Golf ball
An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball having excellent approach spin performance under a dry condition and excellent approach spin performance under a condition that there is grass between the golf ball and the club face. The present invention provides a golf ball comprising a golf ball body and a paint film formed on a surface of the golf ball body, wherein the paint film is composed of at least one layer, and an outermost paint film layer located at the outermost layer of the golf ball contains, as a base resin, a polyurethane obtained by a reaction between (A) a polyisocyanate composition and (B) a polyol composition, and the outermost paint film layer has a dynamic friction coefficient of from 0.75 to 1.5 measured with a dynamic friction tester under specific conditions.
Golf ball paint composition
A golf ball paint composition includes primarily a urethane paint containing polyol as a base resin and polyisocyanate as a curing agent. The polyisocyanate includes two types of isocyanurate and adduct of hexamethylene diisocyanate and the golf ball paint composition has an elastic work recovery of at least 70%. The paint composition has a high self-repairing ability and is of high quality as a golf ball paint. Golf balls coated with this composition are able to maintain a good durability, in addition to which they have an excellent abrasion resistance and an excellent ball appearance.
Golf ball
A golf ball wherein a slide amount Ds is 1.05 mm or less and a post-slide contact time Tc is 600 μs or more in the case where a golf ball 140 is dropped freely from a height position of 3 m above and away from a collision surface 130a inclined 58 degrees with respect to a horizontal direction to collide with the collision surface, the slide amount Ds being a vertical displacement of the golf ball from when the golf ball starts sliding on the collision surface to when the golf ball stops sliding on the collision surface, and the post-slide contact time Tc being a period from when the golf ball stops sliding on the collision surface to when the golf ball leaves the collision surface.
GOLF BALL
An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball having improved ball speed or aerodynamic performance on a rainy day or the like by controlling the formulation of the paint film. The present invention provides a golf ball comprising a golf ball body and a paint film covering the golf ball body, wherein a paint film surface of the golf ball has a water contact angle A1 of 70° or more and a water sliding angle B1 of less than 50°. COATINGS FOR GOLF BALLS HAVING A THERMOPLASTIC POLYURETHANE COVER
Methods for coatings for golf balls, particularly golf balls having thermoplastic polyurethane covers, and the resulting finished balls are provided. The coating is preferably a topcoat comprising a polyurethane composition containing optical brighteners. The topcoat composition preferably comprises a low concentration of optical brighteners. For example, the concentration of optical brightener can be in the range of 0.01 to about 0.20 weight %. The optical brighteners provide the desired brightness to the golf ball without sacrificing color stability. Multi-piece golf balls having inner cores, outer cores, inner covers, and intermediate layers can be made. The finished ball with the topcoat has many advantageous physical and playing performance properties.
