Footwear and sole structure assemblies with adhesive-free mechanical attachments between insoles and midsoles
Presented are footwear sole structures with foot-cushioning insoles movably mounted onto impact-attenuating midsoles, methods for making/using such sole structures, and footwear fabricated with such sole structures. A multilayered sole structure assembly includes an insole movably mounted on a midsole. The midsole is formed with a first compressible material and includes opposing upper and lower midsole surfaces, multiple protrusions projecting from the upper midsole surface, and multiple pockets recessed into the upper midsole surface and interleaved with the midsole protrusions. The insole, which is formed with a second compressible material distinct from the first compressible material, includes opposing upper and lower insole surfaces, multiple protrusions projecting from the lower insole surface and interleaved with the midsole protrusions, and multiple pockets recessed into the lower insole surface and interleaved with the insole protrusions. Each midsole protrusion nests within a respective insole pocket, while each insole protrusion nests within a respective midsole pocket.
Direct bottomed article of footwear with a film
An article of footwear has an upper that is direct attached with the sole. The sole has a film extending up sidewalls of the sole to a film edge that is prior to the sidewall and the upper joining. Method of manufacture of the article of footwear includes steps of positioning a film over a mold cavity and then securing the film to the mold. The film is heated and then drawn into the mold cavity under a vacuum. The film forms a liner of the mold cavity. A foam composition is injected into the lined mold cavity. As the foam composition expands, the foam composition interacts with and mechanically engages with the upper that is positioned at the mold cavity to allow for the mechanical engagement that results in the direct attach of the sole to the upper. The film is then trimmed from the sole sidewalls.

SPORTS SHOE
Sports shoe including an outer sole assembly that includes a damping layer extending over substantially the entire length of the outer sole assembly, as well as an upper fixed to the outer sole assembly. The upper includes an envelope configured to surround a portion of a wearer's foot, as well as a non-extensible flexible panel fixed to the envelope in the area of a portion of the lateral junction between the upper and the outer sole. The sports shoe further includes a reinforcement that is comprised of a rigid plastic material having a hardness greater than 40 shore D, the reinforcement including a lateral wing fixed to a portion of a lateral side of the damping layer and to an outer surface of the flexible panel.
SOLE STRUCTURE AND SHOE INCLUDING THE SAME
A sole structure 1 includes: a first sole portion including a first sole body and a first connecting portion provided behind the first sole body; a second sole portion disposed behind the first sole portion and including a second sole body and a second connecting portion provided in front of the second sole body; and a connecting shaft provided along a vertical direction to connect the first connecting portion and the second connecting portion together. Either one of the first sole portion or the second sole portion is turnable around the connecting shaft relative to the other one of the first sole portion or the second sole portion in a foot width direction.
