Apparatus and methods for controlling correlated color temperature (CCT) and lighting intensity in lighting fixtures are described. The CCT and intensity may be controlled independently over conventional AC wiring using a conventional dimmer. A lighting controller that resembles a conventional dimmer and that can be installed in place of a dimmer may be used instead of a conventional dimmer to access more control functionalities, still using conventional AC wiring. Wireless communication with the lighting fixture and/or lighting controller are possible.

Remote load control device capable of orientation detection

A remote control device is provided that is configured for use in a load control system that includes one or more electrical loads. The remote control device includes a mounting structure and a control unit, and the control unit is configured to be attached to the mounting structure in a plurality of different orientations. The control unit includes a user interface, an orientation sensing circuit, and a communication circuit. The control unit is configured to determine an orientation of the control unit via the orientation sensing circuit. The control unit is also configured to translate a user input from the user interface into control data to control an electrical load of the load control system based on the orientation of the control unit and/or provide a visual indication of an amount of power delivered to the electrical load based on the orientation of the control unit.

The invention describes an LED lighting system (1) comprising a wireless communication arrangement (11, 12) for wireless transfer of signals (D.sub.10.sub._.sub.11, D.sub.11.sub._.sub.12, D.sub.4.sub._.sub.12, D.sub.5.sub._.sub.12) between devices (10, 11, 12, 4, 5) of the LED lighting system (1); at least one LED lamp (10) connectable to a mains power supply (2), which LED lamp (10) comprises a driver arrangement (100) with a control unit (102) for controlling the LED lamp (10) according to a received signal (D.sub.10.sub._.sub.11); a phase-cut detector (103A, 103B, 103C) realized to detect a phase-cut input (V.sub.cut) to the LED lamp (10); and a protection circuit (106) realized to prevent operation of the LED lamp (10) with the phase-cut input (V.sub.cut) if the phase-cut angle of the phase-cut input (V.sub.cut) exceeds a critical threshold, wherein said protection circuit (106) is adapted to prevent an exposure of the LED lamp to the phase-cut input. The invention further describes an LED lamp (10) comprising a driver arrangement (100); and a method of controlling an LED lighting system (1).

Solid-state lighting without operational uncertainty and free of fire hazard

A light-emitting diode (LED)-based solid-state lamp (LED lamp) comprising four input ports, two bridge rectifiers, two interface modules, an LED driving circuit, and LED arrays operates normally for an input voltage applied from any two of the input ports without operational uncertainty and a fire hazard. The LED driving circuit is configured to provide a regulated power and current to drive the LED arrays. With a cycle-by-cycle triac switching and current control, an over-rated surge current is limited, preventing any fire hazards possibly occurred in the ballast when operated with the LED lamp. With various electrical connection terminals, the lamp can fit and operate in various lamp fixtures comprising two-pin, four-pin, or Edison-base sockets.

INTELLIGENT LIGHTING CONTROL BULB DETECTION APPARATUSES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS

The present disclosure provides apparatuses and methods for bulb detection for a lighting control system. The apparatus includes a lighting control module configured to cause a transmission of a quantity of electrical energy to a lighting circuit of a light fixture electrically connected to the lighting control module. The apparatus includes a detector circuit positioned in the lighting control module. The detector circuit is configured to measure a response of the lighting circuit to the transmission of the quantity of electrical energy. The apparatus also includes a controller in electrical communication with the detector circuit. The controller is specially programmed to correlate the quantity of electrical energy transmitted to the lighting circuit to the response of the lighting circuit. The controller is further programmed to determine the bulb type of a bulb electrically coupled to the lighting circuit of the light fixture.

The detector circuit is electrically coupled to the traveler terminal and is configured to detect a grounding of the traveler terminal. The LED luminaire controller further comprises a remote controller. When the remote control signals are initiated by the remote controller with phase-shift keying (PSK) signals transmitted, the transceiver circuit can demodulate such PSK signals and subsequently send the PWM signal, the controllable DC voltage, and a metering command to the control circuit to request responses accordingly.

A light-emitting diode (LED) luminaire controller comprising a transceiver circuit, a power converter circuit, and a control circuit is adopted to convert remote control signals into a pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal and a controllable DC voltage to operate an external LED luminaire by turning it on and off and controlling its luminous intensity. The LED luminaire controller further comprises a remote controller. When the remote control signals are initiated by the remote controller with phase-shift keying (PSK) signals transmitted, the transceiver circuit can demodulate such PSK signals and subsequently send the PWM signal, the controllable DC voltage, and a metering command to the control circuit to request responses accordingly.

LED tube lamp

An LED tube lamp includes a lamp tube, an LED module, a power supply module, a micro switch, and an actuator. The lamp tube has pins for receiving an external driving signal. The power supply module is configured for supplying power to the LED module. The micro switch is coupled to the power supply module. And the actuator is configured to cause the micro switch to change to a closed-circuit position to allow the power supply module to supply power to the LED module for emitting light. When the LED tube lamp is properly installed into a lamp holder, the micro switch closes to electrically connect the power supply module to an external driving signal.

According to invention, problem that detection result of TRIAC dimmer is unreliable can be effectively solved, and detection accuracy is improved.
