Method and system for controlling lighting in a viewing area of a content-presentation device
In one aspect, a method includes receiving video content comprising a first data portion comprising parameters that control a visual appearance of frames of video content presented by a content-presentation device. The content-presentation device is communicatively coupled to a light unit that is (i) present in a viewing area of the content-presentation device and (ii) configured to provide ambient light in the viewing area. The method also includes extracting, from the received video content, a second data portion, separate from the first data portion, specifying one or more light control parameters that a controller associated with the light unit is configured to interpret as instructions for controlling the light unit. The method also includes transmitting the extracted second data portion to the controller to facilitate the controller controlling the light unit according to the specified one or more light control parameters.

Sound and Light Experiences
An example playback device is configured to: (i) determine given audio content that is to be played back by the playback device; (ii) identify at least one frequency range in the given audio content; (iii) for each identified frequency range in the given audio content, determine a respective lighting behavior that is to be produced, by a lighting device that is communicatively coupled with the playback device, during playback of the identified frequency range in the given audio content; (iv) play back the given audio content comprising the at least one identified frequency range; and (v) cause the lighting device to produce the determined lighting behavior in synchrony with playback of the identified frequency in the given audio content.

Systems and methods to provide circadian impact
Certain examples involve controlling a circadian impact of a lighting system. For instance, a lighting system includes a first lighting fixture. The first lighting fixture includes at least one lighting element to illuminate a first space and a first controller to control a first light output of the at least one lighting element. Additionally, the lighting system includes a first background circadian system that provides a first modifying factor to the first controller of the first lighting fixture. The first modifying factor is associated with a first circadian impact profile that specifies a first circadian impact level in the first space. Further, the first controller of the first lighting fixture controls the first light output based on the first modifying factor.
LED light string with automatic sequencing function and method of automatically sequencing the same
A method of automatically sequencing an LED light string. The LED light string includes a plurality of LED modules. The method includes steps of: (a) building a start reference time before the LED modules start to operate, (b) generating a plurality of time difference values from the start reference time when a working voltage of each of the LED modules rises to an identification voltage after the LED modules operate, (c) determining the sequence of the LED modules according to the time difference values to achieve an automatic sequencing function.

Playback device supporting concurrent voice assistants
Disclosed herein are example techniques to support multiple voice assistant services. An example implementation may involve a playback device capturing audio from the one or more microphones into one or more buffers as a sound data stream monitoring the sound data stream for a wake word associated with a specific voice assistant service and monitoring the sound data stream for a wake word associated with the media playback system. The playback device generates a second wake-word event corresponding to a voice input when sound data matching the wake word associated with the media playback system in a portion of the sound data stream is detected. The playback device determines that the voice input includes sound data matching one or more playback commands and sends sound data representing the voice input to a voice assistant associated with the media playback system for processing of the second voice input.
