The at least two electrode tracks may be electrically isolated from one another. Each of the at least two electrode tracks may be connected to the plurality of PTC elements.

ELECTRIC FLUID HEATER

Electric fluid heater for a vehicle, including a heating block with an inlet and an outlet for the fluid, a first channel for the fluid intended to flow between the inlet and the outlet, a first tube and a second tube with opposing ends mounted in headers, the tubes having heating elements. The first channel is delimited by a top plate and a bottom plate sealingly connected to the first tube, the second tube and the headers.

PTC heating element and electric heating device comprising such

A PTC heating element for an electric heating device includes frame which is made of electrically non-conductive material and which encloses at least one PTC element, conductor tracks electrically connected to the PTC element, and insulating layers bearing, in a heat-conductive manner, against an oppositely disposed main side surface of the PTC element. The frame has contact strips which project over itself and which are electrically conductively connected to the conductor tracks for energizing the PTC element with different polarities. In order to provide an electrically well-insulated PTC heating element allows good heat coupling, s a film respectively covers the outer surfaces of the insulating layers. A corresponding PTC heating element may be provided in a circulation chamber of the electric heating device. In this case, the conductor tracks are electrically connected to the PTC element, protrude through a partition wall of the electric heating device, and are exposed and electrically connected in a connection chamber. The connection chamber is separated by the partition wall from the circulation chamber.

A BUS BAR SYSTEM

A bus-bar system 100 includes at least one bus-bar terminal 10. Each Bus-bar terminal 10 includes a first portion 10a, a second portion 10b and an intermediate portion 10c. The first portion 10a is connected to a heating element 20 of a heating block 22. The second portion 10b is connected to a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) 30 held within a casing 32 and the intermediate portion 10c connects the first portion 10a to the second portion 10b. The first portion 10a and the second portion 10b are offset from each other and the offset is based on desired position and orientation of the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) 30 held inside the casing 32 with respect to the heating elements 20.

CABIN HEATER FOR VEHICLE

A cabin heater for a vehicle includes a frame with spaced apart longitudinal supports to locate a common electrical return and a power input. Pluralities of heating units extend between the supports and attach to the return and input. Each unit has a ceramic heater and one or more positive temperature coefficient (PTC) elements. The ceramic heater quickly and directly heats air and helps lower the inrush current of each PTC element upon initial powering. The power input also includes conductive rails spaced apart and electrically isolated from one another to individually supply power to either the ceramic heater or the PTC elements, but not both. Conductive extensions pass through the rails and fold into contact to power either the heater or the PTC elements. The electrical return commonly attaches the PTC elements and the heater, including a spring connection.

Electric heating device

An electric heating device includes a housing having a partition wall which separates a connection chamber from a heating chamber for dissipating heat and from which at least one receiving pocket, protruding into the heating chamber as a heating rib tapering towards its lower, closed end protrudes. A PTC heating element includes at least one PTC element and conductor tracks for energizing the PTC element with different polarities. The conductor tracks are electrically conductively connected to the PTC element and are electrically connected in the connection chamber. A pressure element is received which holds heat extraction surfaces of the PTC element abutted against oppositely disposed inner surfaces of the receiving pocket. The pressure element includes a sheet metal strip which, by punching and bending, forms spring segments protruding from the plane of the sheet metal strip. The spring elements are provided in a planar manner distributed over a heat extraction surface of the PTC element provided adjoining the respective pressure element.
