NON-THERMAL PLASMA GENERATOR FOR DETECTION AND TREATMENT OF MALADIES
A single non-thermal atmospheric plasma generation device is used to detect and analyze vital fields of a living subject to determine the presence of a condition, such as an illness or injury, and responsively modify characteristics of the plasma to treat, heal, or alleviate the condition. The device includes a capacitance dielectric discharge array of plasma emitters, and a controller having a power supply, a transformer, and circuit components for driving the transformer at a resonant frequency of the plasma emitters to cause the plurality of plasma emitters to ionize surrounding air and produce the non-thermal plasma. The resonant frequency is around 60 GHz and harmonics thereof. A receiver of the device recovers frequency mixing products from the plasma, which are extracted by signal processing circuitry; signals in the VHF and UHF bands are extracted and analyzed to determine whether signatures of particular vital fields are present.

It comprises a housing having a skin interface electrode for application to skin during treatment, a generator for generating non-thermal plasma at the skin interface electrode; and an isolating element to isolate a region surrounding said skin interface electrode other than during treatment so that non-thermal plasma generated at the skin interface electrode within said region sterilises the skin interface electrode.
Treatment device for a treatment using a dialectically impeded plasma
The invention relates to a treatment device for a surface to be treated using a dialectically impeded plasma, comprising a housing (1) which has an end wall (14, 14) and comprising an electrode (18, 33) which is shielded from the surface to be treated by a dielectricum (19, 34) that forms at least one part of the end wall (14, 14) and which can be connected to a high-voltage generator (17). The end wall (14, 14) has at least one spacer (29, 29) by means of which at least one gas chamber is formed when the at least one spacer (29, 29) rests against the surface to be treated, and the dialectically impeded plasma is formed in the gas chamber for the treatment process. The treatment device simultaneously allows a treatment using the dialectically impeded plasma and the metered supply of a treatment agent in that a storage chamber (25, 25) which can be filled with a treatment agent is arranged on the end wall (14, 14) face facing away from the surface to be treated; the end wall (14, 14) has passage openings (28, 28); and the volume of the storage chamber (25, 25) can be reduced such that the treatment agent reaches the region of the surface to be treated through the passage openings (28, 28) when the volume is reduced.

The present application relates to a cold plasma device (13) for treating a surface (6) with cold plasma. The device (13) has a cold plasma generator (14) adapted to generate cold plasma that produces reactive species for treating the surface (6). The device (13) also includes a treatment head (5) that is positionable relative to the surface (6) such that the reactive species are imparted toward the surface (6) during treatment. The device (13) is also provided with an air flow generator (8) to generate an air flow over the surface (6) and a controller (9) configured to control operation of the air flow generator (8) to generate an air flow over the surface (6) after the treatment has been completed such that remaining by-products of the cold plasma are dissipated.
Apparatus and Methods for Deactivating Microorganisms with Non-Thermal Plasma
An array of non-thermal plasma emitters is controlled to emit plasma based on application of an electric current at desired frequencies and a controlled power level. A power supply for an array controller includes a transformer that operates at the resonant frequency of the combined capacitance of the array and the cable connecting the array to the power supply. The power into the array is monitored by the controller and can be adjusted by the user. The controller monitors reflected power characteristics, such as harmonics of the alternating current, to determine initiation voltage of the plasma and/or resonant frequency plasma emitters. The array of non-thermal plasma emitters may be used in therapeutic, diagnostic, and/or medical sanitization applications, such as to prevent, limit, and/or treat the development of diseases caused in humans by infectious agents.
