Iron-type golf club head

An iron-type golf club incorporating an aperture extending through the shell on the sole. The location and size of the aperture selectively increase deflection of the face.

Weighted iron set

The present invention is direct to a set of golf clubs comprising long irons, mid-irons and short irons. The invention contemplates the use of titanium or steel for the main body portion and a tungsten weight member coupled to the toe and a tungsten heel weight member coupled in a hosel cavity.

GOLF CLUB HEAD

A state of a golf club head placed such that a shaft axis line is vertical to a horizontal plane and a normal line is parallel to a first perpendicular plane on which the shaft axis line lies is defined as a 0-degree state. A direction parallel to the first perpendicular plane and parallel to the horizontal plane is defined as a projection direction. A projected area of the head projected in the projection direction when the head is rotated by θ°about the shaft axis line toward a back side from the 0-degree state is denoted by WAθ. WAθ is divided by the shaft axis line into a first region (having an area denoted by Afθ) and a second region (having an area denoted by Abθ), and a difference (Afθ-Abθ) is denoted by Sθ. S90 is -4500 (mm.sup.2) or less. S15 is 4700 (mm.sup.2) or less.

Golf club head

A golf club head includes a striking face having a face center and a virtual striking face plane generally parallel to the striking face. The golf club head further includes a sole portion, a top portion, a rear portion, and a loft L no less than 40°. A virtual vertical plane perpendicular to the striking face plane passes through the face center. A club head center of gravity is spaced from the virtual vertical plane in the heel-to-toe direction by a distance D1 that is no greater than 6.0 mm. The golf club head further includes a hosel including an internal bore configured to receive a golf shaft. The internal bore includes a peripheral side wall and a shaft abutment surface configured to abut a tip end of the golf club shaft. The hosel further comprises an auxiliary recess extending sole-ward from the abutment surface of the internal bore.

Golf club head having an adjustable weighting system

A golf club head includes a club body having a crown opposite a sole, a toe end opposite a heel end, a back end, and a hosel. The golf club head also includes an adjustable weighting system positioned on the club body, the adjustable weighting system includes a single channel and a member that is received by the single channel and fastened to the club body, where a plurality of weights are coupled to the member. The golf club head can additionally or alternatively include a face angle adjustment system positioned on the sole, the face angle adjustment system includes a member that is removably received by the single channel and fastened to the sole, the member includes a first end member and a second end member, wherein the member is configured to be repositioned within the channel to adjust a resting face angle of the golf club head.

GOLF CLUB HEADS AND METHODS TO MANUFACTURE GOLF CLUB HEADS

Embodiments of golf club heads, golf clubs, and methods to manufacture golf club heads and golf clubs are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head includes a body portion having a face portion with a face perimeter edge defined by a face toe edge, a face heel edge, a face top edge, and a face sole edge. The face portion includes a first groove portion, a second groove portion, a third groove portion on the back surface of the face portion, and a face perimeter portion between the first groove portion and the face toe edge, between the second groove portion and the face top edge, and between the third groove portion and the face heel edge. The first groove portion is connected to the second groove portion, which is connected to the third groove portion. Other examples and embodiments may be described and claimed.

Golf club head

A golf club head is described having a body defining an interior cavity and comprising a heel portion, a toe portion, and a sole portion positioned at a bottom portion of the golf club head, and a crown positioned at a top portion. The body has a forward portion and a rearward portion. A face is positioned at the forward portion of the body. The face has a center face location and includes a center face characteristic time. An off-center location on the face is located at about −40 mm in a heel direction away from the center face location. The off-center location has an off-center characteristic time of at least 80% of the center face characteristic time.

Aerodynamic golf club head

A high moment of inertia aerodynamic golf club head with a low deep center of gravity location and producing reduced aerodynamic drag forces. The club head has crown section attributes that impart beneficial aerodynamic properties and performance.
