Semiconductor package and method for making the same
A semiconductor package includes a semiconductor chip disposed over a first main surface of a first substrate, a package lid disposed over the semiconductor chip, and spacers extending from the package lid through corresponding holes in the first substrate. The spacers enter the holes at a first main surface of the first substrate and extend beyond an opposing second main surface of the first substrate.
Combined surface mount standoff and LED for space constrained applications
A combination standoff and LED includes a surface mount solder standoff which can be either threaded or unthreaded, and a surface mount LED disposed and fixed in the center of the base of the standoff. The combination standoff and LED is adapted to receive a lightpipe via the either threaded or unthreaded portion of the surface mount solder standoff. This combination standoff and LED results in a single piece of hardware which simplifies the physical PCBA layout design and removes any Computer Aided Design (CAD) placement errors that would normally be present if two separate hardware components were placed together manually.
VERTICAL POWER DELIVERY PACKAGING STRUCTURE
A package structure is disclosed. The package structure includes processor die connected to a top surface of a package substrate. The package structure further includes a DC-DC power converter attached to a bottom surface of the package substrate. The DC-DC power converter is located at least within an open area of an interconnect component that connects the bottom surface of the package substrate and a top surface of a motherboard.
High Frequency And High Power Thin Film Component
A surface mount component can include a first substrate and a second substrate arranged adjacent the first substrate to form a monolithic body. At least one of the first substrate or the second substrate can include a thermally conductive material that is electrically insulating. A thin film component can be arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate. A first terminal can be formed over a first end of the monolithic body. A second terminal can be formed over a second end of the monolithic body that is opposite the first end. A heat sink terminal can contact the thermally conductive material of the at least one of the first substrate or the second substrate.
Magnetic sensor component and assembly
A sensor comprises a housing; and a lead frame comprising at least three elongated leads having an exterior portion extending from the housing; and a magnetic sensor circuit disposed in the housing, and connected to the lead frame. The housing comprises two recesses arranged on two opposite sides of the housing for allowing the sensor to be mounted to a support. The lead frame may further comprise a plurality of tabs disposed between the elongated leads, for use as test pins. A component assembly comprising said sensor mounted on a support between deformable protrusions. A method of making said component assembly, comprising the step of positioning said component on the support between said protrusions, and deforming said protrusions such that they are at least partially disposed within the recesses.
Method of installing an image sensor of a camera
An image sensor attached to a printed circuit board is installed in a camera. A holder includes first and second rails comprising first and second printed circuit boards, respectively, and the holder is fastened to a lens mount of the camera. The holder may be fastened to captively hold the image sensor, and the image sensor may be resiliently supported when captively held. A gripper grasps the image sensor proximate to the holder and aligns the image sensor to an aligned position of the image sensor relative to the lens mount. The image sensor may be moved to the aligned position after directing an image toward the image sensor to produce a processed image for determining relative alignment. The printed circuit board is soldered to the first and/or second printed circuit board such that the holder fixedly holds the image sensor so it is unmovable in its aligned position.
Apparatus and method for forming sensors with integrated electrical circuits on a substrate
An apparatus is described. The apparatus includes a substrate and one or more sensor components formed on the substrate. And, the apparatus includes one or more electrical circuits formed on the substrate electrically coupled with at least one of the one or more sensor components formed on the substrate.
Prelaminate for an electronic card, and methods for producing such a prelaminate and an electronic card comprising such a prelaminate
The present invention relates to a prelaminate for an electronic card, wherein at least a first group of pads is formed from a metal plate formed from a piece comprising a central part and branches extending from the central part, the branches of the metal plate forming the pads of the first group. The invention also relates to a method for producing such a prelaminate and an electronic card comprising such a prelaminate.
Spark gap electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection for memory cards
To protect memory cards, such as SD type cards, and similar devices from Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), the input pads of the device include points along their edges that are aligned with correspond points on a conductive frame structure mounted adjacent the input pad to form a spark gap. The input pads are connected to a memory controller or other ASIC over signal lines that include a diode located between the input pad and the ASIC and a resistance located between the input pad and the diode. The resistance and diode are selected such that an ESD event at an input pad triggers a discharge across the spark gap before it is transmitted on to the ASIC, while also allowing a high data rate for signals along the signal line.
Method and apparatus for a shielding structure of surface-mount LTCC devices
An apparatus and method for a shielding structure for surface-mount LTCC components and filters to increase the signal isolation from input signal port to output signal port. An LTCC filter device with an increased rejection of undesired frequencies in a stopband and minimal distortion or loss of desired signals in a passband.
