CLUB HEADS HAVING REINFORCED CLUB HEAD FACES AND RELATED METHODS

Some embodiments include club heads having reinforced club head faces. Other embodiments of related club heads and methods are also disclosed.

Golf club head

A golf club head comprises a sole, a recessed sole port in the sole; and a rotatably adjustable sole piece adapted to be at least partially received within the sole port and comprising a central body having a plurality of contact surfaces adapted to contact the sole port and being offset from each other along a central axis extending through the central body of the sole piece. The sole piece can be positioned at least partially within the sole port at five or more rotational and axial positions with respect to the central axis, wherein at each rotational position, at least one of said contact surfaces of the central body contacts the sole port to set the axial position of the sole piece. The sole port and/or the sole piece can be generally pentagonal in shape.

Golf club head

Disclosed herein is a golf club head that comprises a strike face. The strike face has a central region, defined by a forty millimeter by twenty millimeter rectangular area centered on a center of the strike face and elongated in a heel-to-toe direction. Within the central region, the strike face has a characteristic time (CT) of no more than 257 microseconds. Within the central region, no less than 25% of the strike face has a coefficient of restitution (COR) of at least 0.8. Within the central region, no less than 60% of the strike face has a CT of at least 235 microseconds. Within the central region, no less than 35% of the strike face has a CT of at least 240 microseconds.

Golf club heads with energy storage characteristics

Embodiments of golf club heads with energy storage characteristics are presented herein. In some embodiments, a golf club head comprises a hollow body comprising a strikeface, a heel region, a toe region opposite the heel region, a sole, a top rail and an inflection point. The inflection point provides increase bending of the strikeface thereby providing performance enhancement over clubs without an inflection point.

IRON TYPE GOLF CLUB HEAD

An iron golf club head achieving improved performance via a specific Effective Stiffness Area ratio between the boundary of the iron golf club head and the face of the iron golf club head is disclosed. More specifically, the present invention discloses a golf club head wherein an iron golf club head having a variable face profile into specific iron golf club head chassis resulting in an Effective Stiffness Area Ratio of between about 4.5 to 5.5 and a Coefficient of Restitution value as a function of the above Effective Stiffness Area Ratio.

A golf club head includes a body having a face plate having a strike surface and an opposing interior surface, a rear end, and a sole connecting the faceplate with the rear end. The face plate, the rear end, and the sole partially define a cavity. An insert is positioned within the cavity, the insert presenting an insert surface facing the interior surface of the face plate and spaced therefrom.

Golf club head

A golf club head includes: a sole; a crown; a toe; a heel opposite the toe; a strike face generally bounded by a face perimeter edge, the strike face comprising a geometric center; a rear portion; and a substantially enclosed interior cavity at least partially delimited by the sole, the crown, the strike face, and the rear portion. The golf club head also includes at least one rib having a first portion secured to the strike face, having a second portion secured to the crown, and being positioned such that a location on the strike face laterally spaced toe-ward from the geometric center by no less than 0.4 in is associated with a COR value no less than 0.825.
