Electrical Assembly

An electrical assembly for a motor vehicle transmission includes a printed circuit board (PCB), at least two contact surfaces, at least two contact elements, and a potting compound. The PCB has a component side and the two contact surfaces are arranged on the component side. The contact elements are each electrically connected by a PCB-side first end portion to one of the contact surfaces. The potting compound is arranged on the component side of the PCB, and the contact elements are partly embedded therein. The potting compound directly contacts the contact surfaces and the PCB-side end portions of the contact elements and covers the same. The contact elements protrude from the potting compound by second end portions facing away from the PCB. The electrical assembly includes a chip protection frame that protrudes outward from the potting compound and forms contact chambers for the second end portions of the contact elements.

An electronic module includes a printed circuit board (PCB) element, a base with a first electrically conductive contact element, and an electronic component with a second electrically conductive contact element. The base is fastened on and electrically connected to the PCB element. The electronic component is electrically connected to the base by an electric contact region between the first and second contact elements. A first portion of the first contact element protrudes from the base on a first side of the base facing away from the PCB element. The first portion of the first contact element and/or a second portion of the second contact element has a resilient configuration such that the electronic component is mechanically fastened to the base by a spring force between the first and second contact elements. The electronic module in one embodiment is configured for a transmission controller or an electric vehicle.

Direct coupling connector assembly

A female connector is mountable to an electronic module having a printed circuit board. The female connector comprises a female connector body, a plurality of female taps, an inner seal, a coupling nut disposed in the female connector body, and a female O-ring. The female connector body includes a female flange having a female bolting hole configured to couple with the electronic module and a female protrusion protruding from the female flange. The female taps each include a pin extending through the female connector body and connectable to the printed circuit board and a receptor connected to an end of the pin. The inner seal is disposed in the female protrusion and is configured to be in contact with a male connector that couples with the female connector. The female O-ring surrounds the female protrusion and is disposed in an outer wall of the female protrusion.
