Environment Control In Electronic Apparatus

An electronic apparatus includes a housing with a power supply unit that receives external electrical power and supplies it to the apparatus using a power controller. The housing includes a heater; temperature and humidity sensors; and an electronic processor that receives power from the power supply unit and controls functions of the electronic apparatus. Upon startup, the power controller receives data from the temperature and humidity sensors; processes the received temperature and humidity data to indicate a current dew point within the housing; and compares the current dew point with a current location temperature at a location within the housing. If the current location temperature is at or below the current dew point, the heater is activated to raise the temperature within the housing. If the current location temperature is above the current dew point, electrical power supplied from the power supply unit to the electronic processor.

Microsystem device comprising integrated desiccant monitoring

A miniaturized microsystem device including at least one of electrical, optical and mechanical components in a hermetically or non-hermetically sealed housing with respect to air humidity or encapsulated, which contains a desiccant. The humidity-dependent lifetime of the arrangement is determined by measuring the absorptivity of the desiccant.

PORTABLE DEHUMIDIFYING CHAMBER

A portable dehumidifying chamber includes a frame of a structure configured to include a first zone, a second zone, and a third zone, where a plurality of exterior walls coupled to the frame of the structure isolate the first zone, the second zone, and third zone from surrounding environmental conditions. A heating device disposed in the first zone to facilitate heated air flow from the first zone to the third zone, where the heated air flow contacts an object disposed in the second zone to facilitate dehumidification of the object. A conduit connecting the third zone to the first zone, where the conduit allows for humidified air flow to bypass the second zone, where the conduit includes a moisture removing apparatus. A first vapor barrier material separates the first zone and the second zone and a second vapor barrier material separates the second zone and the third zone.

The system includes a heater configured to raise the air temperature inside the sealed electronics compartment, an internal environmental sensor for sensing conditions within the sealed electronics compartment, and providing environmental data, and an external environmental sensor for sensing conditions outside the sealed electronics compartment, and providing environmental data, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive environmental data from the internal environmental sensor, and the external environmental sensor, and control the operation of the heater to maintain a set humidity level. The system further includes a passive water vapor transport membrane placed in the walls of the sealed electronics compartment.

DATA CENTER COOLING SYSTEM THAT PREVENTS CONDENSATION CAUSED BY OPENING EXTERNAL ACCESS DOORS
20210219462 · 2021-07-15 ·

An environmental system protects internal components of a data center from condensation due to exposure to outside air. An environmental controller of the environmental system monitors sensor(s) that detect an outside temperature value and an outside humidity value of the outside air and an interior air temperature value of the data center. The environmental controller identifies an external access request to open an access door that exposes heat-generating IT component(s) within the data center to outside air. Based on the outside and the interior air temperature values and the outside humidity value received from sensor(s), the environmental controller determines that a dew point temperature of the outside air is greater than the interior air temperature. In response, the environmental controller increases a temperature set point of the cooling system to first temperature value that increases the interior air temperature above the dew point temperature of the outside air.

Humidity control system

Aspects of the disclosure relate to reducing replacing a desiccant cartridge based upon a condensation risk. In one example, first information corresponding to a current dew point within a sensor housing of a sensor and second information identifying temperature data corresponding to a predefined area where the sensor is projected to travel may be received. Based upon the first and second information a condensation risk corresponding to the likelihood of condensation forming within the sensor housing in the event it traveled within the predefined area based upon the current dew point and the temperature data may be determined. Based upon the determined condensation risk, an indication that a desiccant cartridge within the sensor housing should be replaced to reduce the current dew point and the condensation risk may be provided.
