A face portion may be coupled to the front portion and include a front surface and a back surface. The body portion includes a face support portion including a composite material and coupled to the back surface of the face portion. The golf club head is configured such that (i) when the front body front surface strikes a golf ball with a first amount of force, the front body deflects toward the rear body with a first amount of deflection, and (ii) when the front body front surface strikes the golf ball with a second amount of force less than the first amount of force, the front body deflects toward the rear body with a second amount of deflection greater than the first amount of deflection. In one example, a golf club head may include a body portion having a first body portion piece with a first port, and a second body portion piece removably coupled to the first body portion piece and having a second port. The first body portion piece may be at least partially filled with a polymer material. The golf club head may also include a mass portion having a fastening portion. The first and second ports are configured to be axially aligned. The second port is configured to receive the mass portion to close the second port, and the fastening portion of the mass portion is configured to engage the first port to fasten the second body portion piece to the first body portion piece. Golf club head with textured faceplate and methods of manufacturing the same

Embodiments of a golf club head with a textured strikeface and methods to form said club head through laser shock treatment are generally described herein. The golf club head can comprise a body and a strikeface. The strikeface has a textured front surface, with an array of indentions. Each indention can have a footprint area of between 0.01 μm.sup.2 (1×10.sup.−8 mm.sup.2) to 250,000 μm.sup.2 (0.25 mm.sup.2). The textured front surface can affect the spin imparted to a golf ball upon impact. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Embodiments of golf club heads, golf clubs, and methods to manufacture golf club heads and golf clubs are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head includes a body portion having an interior cavity, a ledge portion extending outward from a back wall of the body portion, a filler material comprising a rubber compound in the interior cavity, a first set of mass portions that is closer to a toe portion edge of the body portion than to a heel portion edge of the body portion, and a second set of mass portions that is closer to the heel portion edge than to the toe portion edge. A face portion is coupled to the body portion to enclose the interior cavity and includes at least one back groove located proximate to a perimeter edge of the face portion. A set of golf club heads includes a first golf club head having a first loft and a second golf club head having a second loft greater than the first loft. The first golf club head includes a first striking face defining a first striking face plane and a first weight assembly including: a first weight, a first cover, and a first fastener. The second golf club head includes a second striking face defining a second striking face plane and a second weight assembly including: a second weight, a second cover, and a second fastener. The first and second fasteners are respectively controllably movable along first and second fastener axes, and a smallest angle between the second fastener axis and the second striking face plane is smaller than a smallest angle between the first fastener axis and the first striking face plane.
