Mobile baseball pitching mound
A portable pitching mound that offers the strength and durability of a traditional dirt mound that is compatible with turf fields and will not create an edge lip on a baseball field.
Pitcher training device
A pitcher training device includes a vertically mountable base with certain integrated training elements. The training elements include a rotatable disc with an axis of rotation in a fixed angular orientation relative to the vertically mountable base. The rotatable disc is rotatably mounted to the vertically mountable base.
Modular resistance force system
A modular resistance force system includes an axle configured to be rotatable around a rotational axis and one or more resistance mechanisms. Each of the one or more resistance mechanisms includes a resistance element disposed about a portion of the axle, a resistance element housing configured to house the resistance element and a resistance substance disposed between the resistance element and the resistance element housing. Either the resistance element or the resistance element housing is selectively engaged to rotate with the axle. A resistance between the resistance element and the resistance substance causes a force to be applied to the axle when the resistance element and the resistance element housing move relative to each other.
Baseball and softball pitching training aid
A pitching training aid is provided. The pitching training aid includes an elongated poll having a first end, a second end, and a common axis running from the first end to the second end. The present invention further includes a ball having a slot running from a first side to a second side opposite the first side along a center of the ball. The slot is sized to fit around the elongated poll so that the ball slidably engages the elongated poll along the common center axis. A first stopper is secured to the first end of the elongated poll and a second stopper is secured to the second end of the elongated poll. The first stopper and the second stopper have a diameter greater than a diameter of the elongated poll, thereby preventing the ball from sliding off of the elongated poll.
Baseball pitching training device
A baseball pitching training device used to instruct the throwing of a fastball, curveball, and change-up by a right handed pitcher through indicia placement on the baseball cover while maintaining the structural integrity of the baseball. The indicia provide finger alignment to grip the baseball needed to throw the desired pitch used in the sport of baseball. Correct finger alignment allows the baseball to sit in the right hand supported by the thumb, and non grip finger(s) to throw the chosen baseball pitch.
METHOD, APPARATUS, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR MEASURING AND INTERPRETING METRICS OF AN ATHLETIC ACTION AND AN OBJECT ASSOCIATED THEREWITH
Embodiments provided herein measure metrics of an athletic action and an object associated therewith, and more particularly, to measuring the metrics and characteristics of a baseball during the wind-up, release, flight, and catch of a pitch sequence. Methods may include: receiving, from at least one motion sensor associated with an object, acceleration data and angular velocity data of the object in response to an athletic action performed on the object; processing the acceleration data to establish vector rotation data between a frame of reference of the object and an Earth frame of reference; applying the vector rotation data to the acceleration data to obtain acceleration of the object in the Earth frame of reference; applying the vector rotation data to the angular velocity data to obtain angular velocity of the object in the Earth frame of reference.
Baseball training device
A baseball training device comprises a contact segment in the shape of a flexible loop coupled to a first side of an object and a securing mechanism coupled to a second side of the object for securing the baseball training device to a wrist of a user.
Ball including one or more sensors to improve pitching performance
A ball, and in particular a baseball or softball, including one or more sensors such as accelerometers and/or inertial measurement units, and systems and methods using the same to improve a pitcher's pitching performance are described herein. In some embodiments, the ball may include one or more inertial measurement units and/or accelerometers capable of monitoring motion of the ball while it is thrown. Various types of pitches may be selected, and in response to the inertial measurement unit(s) and/or accelerometer(s) detecting certain parameters corresponding to a selected pitch, one or more indicators may be caused to perform an action. For example, one or more illuminating elements located on the ball may turn a first color in response to detecting parameters corresponding to the selected pitch.
BALL THROWING TRAINING AND STRENGTHENING DEVICE
This invention relates generally to training a user how to correctly throw a ball, and more specifically, a training, physical, or occupational therapy aid that can be used to strengthen and rehabilitate a user's muscles and joints.
Zip net pitcher safety system
A pitcher safety system may be disclosed. The pitcher safety system may be a highly portable weather resistant collapsible pitching net. The pitcher safety system may have a curved body with an opening side, a permanently closed side, a handle side, and a carriage side. A collapsible frame comprising two pivoting base members may be permanently coupled to the interior of the curved body. The collapsible frame, a first pair of connecting members, a second pair of connecting members, and a top connecting member may be quickly coupled to one another to form a fully erected frame and safety net. The pitcher safety system may have a wheeled carriage system coupled to the carriage side, a grab handle coupled to the handle side, and hinged stabilizers coupled to the underside of the permanently closed side of the curved body.
