Covert sports communication system
A covert sports communication system has a transmitter configured to wirelessly transmit coded audio track selection signals. The system includes a receiver that may be worn within headgear. The receiver includes stored audio tracks and is configured to receive coded audio track selection signals from the transmitter, decode the audio track selection signals, and play at least one stored audio track in accordance with the decoded audio track selection signals. The audio tracks may include audio instructions to a participant of a sporting event.
Portable fielding system
A portable fielding system comprising a Chassis Assembly, a motorized Yaw Mechanism connected to said Chassis Assembly, a motorized Pitch Mechanism connected to said Yaw Mechanism, a Ball Launcher Mechanism connected to said Pitch Mechanism, a Ball Feeder Mechanism connected to said Chassis Assembly and Ball Launcher Mechanism, and a Control System Assembly connected to said Chassis Assembly, wherein said Yaw Mechanism positions the Pitch Mechanism and Ball Launcher Mechanism at some angle about their yaw axes, wherein said Pitch Mechanism positions the Ball Launcher Mechanism at some angle about its pitch axis.
Ball glove
A ball glove has a hollow zone at a ball impact zone. The hollow zone accommodates a drop-in assembly to provide adequate protection to the wearer of the ball glove without imparting stiffness to the crotch area or the ball impact zone of the ball glove. The ball glove opens/closes easily so as to provide control which players are seeking and creates a game-day-ready pocket based on the individual player's ball catching habits in a short period of time.
Intelligent Sensor System
A sensor system and method of using the system synergistically to improve the accuracy and usefulness of measured results is described. The system is comprised of electronically linked components that act as markers to trigger events, producers that gather data from sensors and aggregators that combine the data from a plurality of producers using triggers from marker devices to select the data of interest. The system is shown to be applicable to selection of data regions of interest and to analysis of the data to improve accuracy. The analysis of the data of any particular sensor within the system makes use of extrinsic data, being data generated by other sensors and intrinsic data, that is data or data limits that are known to be true from nature, laws of physics or just the particular information the user wants to acquire. The system is demonstrated on the analysis of Doppler radar measurements of a thrown object.
Catcher's Glove
A protective inner glove worn in conjunction with a catcher's glove, particularly in baseball or softball, the glove including a thin, flexible shock-absorbing material continuously affixed over a thumb, index-finger, and metacarpal region of a palm at a thenar eminence of the catcher's hand adjacent to the index finger providing protection to the phalanges, interphalangeal joints, metacarpal bones and underlying nerves of the thumb and index-finger from trauma caused by repetitive impact in catching a ball. The shock-absorbing material composed of a visco-elastic material affixed within the glove having liquid-like and rubber-like properties for absorbing energy and vibration isolation providing impact protection while simultaneously maintaining the catcher's tactile sensation and gripping movement freedom for effective catching.
Baseball glove and liner
A glove liner includes a pad running diagonally across the palm of the hand. When the glove liner is inserted into a baseball fielder's glove, the pad underlies a heel of the glove and/or a palm of the glove and promotes catching a baseball in the webbing or pocket of the fielder's glove.
FIRST METACARPAL SLING FOR BALL GLOVE
A ball glove for catching the ball includes a front glove portion, a back glove portion coupled to the front glove portion to define a hand cavity having a thumb stall. The thumb stall has a back side and a palm side. A metacarpal sling extends within the hand cavity. The sling extends from a thumb side of the back glove portion to a pinky side of the back glove portion and continuing along the back side of the thumb stall to the palm side of the thumb stall so as to support the first metacarpal on a person's hand when the person's hand is positioned within the hand cavity.
System for Training Baseball Catchers
A system for teaching a catcher the proper form for the traditional blocking position comprising a wrist strap, a wrist-to-facemask adjustable tether, a retractable tether, an automatic tether retraction system, a release trigger system, and a leg attachment component. The wrist-to-facemask adjustable tether is detachably engaged to the wrist strap as is the retractable tether. The automatic tether retraction system is mechanically engaged to the retractable tether, and is configured to automatically retract and spool the retractable tether. The release trigger system is mechanically engaged to the retractable tether, and is configured to, at least in part, lock and prevent any extension of the spooled retractable tether. The retractable tether in conjunction with the release trigger system is configured to restrict the distance the wrist strap may range from the leg attachment component, while the wrist-to-facemask adjustable tether is configured to restrict the distance the facemask may range from the wrist strap.
Multi-operative fielding aid accessory
A method includes anchoring a loop strap and a hook strap at a first surface of a rectangular arcuate panel proximate a first end of the first surface, providing a retaining element anchored to the rectangular arcuate panel, with the retaining element forming a loop, and providing an extension strap anchored to the rectangular arcuate panel proximate the retaining element to form a fielding aid accessory. The method also includes wrappably attaching the anchored first hook strap with the anchored first loop strap around a forearm of an athlete and securely positioning fingers of a hand thereof by way of the loop of the retaining element such that the forearm contacts a second surface of the rectangular arcuate panel. The fielding aid accessory is configured to be used by the athlete in two modes of operation based on a configuration of coupling of the extension strap.
Baseball pitch selection communication system
A system for communicating pitch selections wirelessly from a wireless transmitter has a coded signal generator that generates coded signals in accordance with selected pitch types. A receiver decodes the received coded signals, selects an audio file based on the received coded signal and generates an audio signal announcing the selected pitch type based on the transmitted selected pitch type in accordance with the received coded signal. The audio signal is transduced by a bone conductor transducer so that the player can hear the announced selected pitch type through bone conduction.
