Connecting a component to a substrate by adhesion to an oxidized solder surface
In some embodiments, connecting a component to a substrate by adhesion to an oxidized solder surface includes: forming one or more conductive solder connections between the component and one or more conductive portions of the substrate; adhering the component to an oxidized surface of a solder portion applied to the substrate.
Dye and pry process for surface mount technology dual in-line memory module
Embodiments of the invention include a dye and pry process for removing a surface mount technology (SMT) dual in-line memory module (DIMM) from card assemblies. Aspects of the invention include immersing a semiconductor package assembly in a solution comprising dye and placing the immersed semiconductor package assembly under vacuum pressure. Vacuum conditions ensure that the dye solution is pulled into any cracks in the solder formed between the semiconductor package assembly and the SMT DIMM. The package assembly is dried, and a dummy card stock is installed in the SMT DIMM using an epoxy. The SMT DIMM is then removed by applying a force to an exposed cavity between the dummy card stock and the semiconductor package assembly. The semiconductor package assembly and the SMT DIMM can then be inspected for the dye to locate cracks.
Method of cutting electronic component, method of removing component, and method of manufacturing electronic device
A method of cutting an electronic component mounted on a circuit board includes: a step of applying adhesive to a predetermined area including at least an outermost peripheral portion of an upper surface of the electronic component and attaching a dustproof sheet to the upper surface of the electronic component; and a step of cutting the electronic component while maintaining a state where the dustproof sheet is attached to the outermost peripheral portion.
Structure of memory module and modification method of memory module
An improved memory module structure includes a printed circuit board, memory units disposed on the printed circuit board, and a connection interface disposed on the printed circuit board for connection with an electronic device. The printed circuit board includes a solder pad zone having solder pads electrically connected with the memory units and the connection interface. A conduction element is combined with the solder pad zone or at least one conductor line electrically connected, in the form of bridge connection, the solder pads, in order to have the solder pads electrically connected. A memory module modification method is also provided, including removing a register from an existing dual inline memory module to expose a solder pad zone, and disposing of a conduction element or arranging a conductor line to have the memory units and the connection interface of electrically connected to thereby form an improved memory module structure.

Systems and methods for removing an adhesively-attached component from a circuit board assembly
Apparatus and associated methods relate to removing an adhesively-attached component from a circuit board assembly. A complementary pair of high-permeability members are positioned on opposite sides of the circuit board assembly about the adhesively-attached component. Then, a magnetic field is induced within the complementary pair of high permeability members via a coil driver generating an AC current in an inductive coil circumscribing a central pedestal of the complementary pair of high-permeability members. The magnetic field induced is directed through the adhesively-attached component via a central pedestal located proximate the adhesively-attached component. A return path for the magnetic field is provided about a periphery of the adhesively-attached component via a peripheral pedestal.
