Display device including a semi-transmissive layer

A display device which exhibits light with high color purity is provided. A display device with low power consumption is provided. An embodiment is a display device which includes a first pixel electrode, a second pixel electrode, a light-emitting layer, a common electrode, a first protective layer, and a semi-transmissive layer. The light-emitting layer includes a first region positioned over the first pixel electrode and a second region positioned over the second pixel electrode. The common electrode is positioned over the light-emitting layer. The first protective layer is positioned over the common electrode. The semi-transmissive layer is positioned over the first protective layer. Reflectivity with respect to visible light of the semi-transmissive layer is higher than reflectivity with respect to visible light of the common electrode. The semi-transmissive layer does not overlap with the first region and overlaps with the second region. For example, the semi-transmissive layer may include an opening in a position overlapping with the first region.

The present application discloses a display panel and a display device. The display panel includes a display area and a non-display area; the non-display area includes a bonding area away from the display area, and a plurality of terminals are disposed in the bonding area; and the non-display area further includes an anti-overflow portion disposed around the plurality of terminals. The present application prevents the problem of ACF overflow by disposing the anti-overflow portion around the plurality of terminals in the non-display area, such that the peeling of the glass substrate is facilitated, and the yield of the product is improved.

For each of a first wavelength λ.sub.uv and a second wavelength λ.sub.bg, 0<λ.sub.b-λ.sub.uv≤100 nm#and 0<λ.sub.bg-λ.sub.b≤100 nm, the reflective polarizer transmits at least 40% of the incident light for each of the first and second polarization states.

The display panel includes a substrate, a thin film transistor array layer disposed on the substrate, a light emitting device layer disposed on the thin film transistor array layer, a thin film encapsulation layer disposed on the light emitting device layer, a phase retardation layer disposed within the thin film encapsulation layer, and a linear polarizing layer disposed within the thin film encapsulation layer. By removing a conventional polarizer, a problem in a conventional display panel that disposition of a polarizer limits a thickness of the entire display panel and reduces bending performance of the display panel is solved.
