METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR PACKAGING AN ULTRASOUND-ON-A-CHIP
Aspects of the disclosure described herein related to packaging an ultrasound-on-a-chip. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes an ultrasound-on-a-chip that has through-silicon vias (TSVs) and an interposer coupled to the ultrasound-on-a-chip and including vias, where the ultrasound-on-a-chip is coupled to the interposer such that the TSVs in the ultrasound-on-a-chip are electrically connected to the vias in the interposer. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes an ultrasound-on-a-chip having bond pads, an interposer that has bond pads and that is coupled to the ultrasound-on-a-chip, and wirebonds extending from the bond pads on the ultrasound-on-a-chip to the bond pads on the interposer.
READ/WRITE DEVICE FOR A HARD-DISK MEMORY SYSTEM, AND CORRESPONDING MANUFACTURING PROCESS
Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a read/write device for a hard-disk memory system. The read/write device includes a fixed structure; a membrane region including a first and a second membrane, which are constrained to the fixed structure, and a central portion, interposed between the first and second membranes; a first and a second piezoelectric actuator, mechanically coupled, respectively, to the first and second membranes; and a read/write head, which is fixed to the central portion of the membrane region. The first and second piezoelectric actuators can be controlled so as to cause corresponding deformations of the first and second membranes, said deformations of the first and second membranes causing corresponding movements of the read/write head with respect to the fixed structure.
Method for manufacturing a multi-cell transducer
A method for fabricating a multi-cell electroacoustic transducer comprises placing a rail layer onto a base, the rail layer comprising a plurality of apertures arranged in an array, filling cavities in the rail layer with a polymer, and applying a flexural plate to the rail layer. The transducer achieves high transmission sensitivity across a broad bandwidth. The transducer may be designed to have a broad or a focused directivity pattern, or may be multi-frequency, depending on the particular application and has a range of applications.

PIEZOELECTRIC ENERGY HARVESTER WITH A CONTROLLED DEFLECTION BEAM, IN PARTICULAR FOR POWERING A LEADLESS AUTONOMOUS CARDIAC CAPSULE
The module comprises, in an envelope tube, a pendular unit comprising a piezoelectric transducer, PZT, beam, an inertial mass coupled to the free end of the beam, and a beam mount secured to the tube and fastened to a clamping part of the beam. The module further includes a symmetrization insert for calibrating and symmetrizing the pendular unit oscillations in transverse and lateral directions. The symmetrization insert is distinct from the beam mount and comprises a peripheral portion secured to the tube independently of the beam mount, and a central portion with an axial through-cavity inside which the beam extends in said region of free travel. The axial cavity extends between opposite travel limitation surfaces, which are symmetrical and capable of coming into contact with the beam in a bending configuration of the beam.
Methods and systems for a multi-frequency transducer array
Various methods and systems are provided for a multi-frequency transducer array. In one example, the transducer array includes an element formed of one or more sub-elements, at least one sub-element having a different resonance frequency. A frequency range of the transducer array may thereby be broadened.
