The present invention relates to compositions comprising at least one thermoplastic polyurethane, at least melamine cyanurate, at least one first phosphorus-containing flame retardant (F1) selected from the group consisting of alkyl esters of phosphoric acid and alkyl esters of phosphonic acid, where the alkyl radicals are selected from C1 to C12 alkyl radicals, and at least one further phosphorus-containing flame retardant (F2) selected from the group consisting of derivatives of phosphinic acid, and to the use of such a composition for production of cable sheaths.

FLUOROPOLYMER INSULATED COMMUNICATIONS CABLE

A communications cable is provided that includes a pair of twisted pair of wires, each coated with a fluoropolymer insulator. The twisted pair of wires is configured to carry a differential signal, such as a differential data signal and/or a differential power signal. The fluoropolymers are highly effective insulators and significantly reduce both the effects of internal and external electromagnetic interference while maintaining low cable attenuation, even when operating within a temperature range of 40 C. to 150 C.

Submersible transducer includes a transducer housing configured to be submerged within an aqueous liquid and a pressure sensor operable to obtain data for determining a pressure of the aqueous liquid. The pressure sensor may be disposed within the transducer housing. The submersible transducer also includes a submersible cable having an electrical conductor and a venting tube operably coupled to the pressure sensor. The pressure sensor uses an atmospheric pressure of an external environment that is detected through the venting tube to determine the pressure of the aqueous liquid. The submersible cable also includes a cable jacket and an inner layer that is surrounded by the cable jacket. The inner layer surrounds the electrical conductor and the venting tube. The inner layer includes a non-hygroscopic polymer that is more resistant to absorbing the aqueous liquid than the cable jacket.

CABLE COMPONENT INCLUDING A HALOGEN-FREE FLAME RETARDANT COMPOSITION

Embodiments of a flame retardant composition are provided. The composition includes from 55% to 85% by weight of a blended matrix and from 15% to 45% by weight of a flame retardant package distributed within the blended matrix. The blended matrix includes a polyolefin component and a nitrogen-containing polymer component. In particular, the nitrogen-containing polymer component has a melting temperature of less than 240 C. The flame retardant package includes an acid source, a carbon source, a polyoxometalate ionic liquid, and a synergist. The flame retardant composition can be utilized in cables, such as fiber optic cables.

A method of forming an electrically conductive fabric including providing an elastic monofilament, enclosing the elastic monofilament with a conductive thread by crocheting, thereby producing a conductive elastic yarn and forming an electrically conductive fabric from the conductive elastic yarn and an electrically conductive fabric formed thereby.

CABLE

The cable according to one embodiment of the invention comprises: one or a plurality of core members, each having a conductor and an insulation cover material covering the conductor; and a sheath layer covering the one or the plurality of core members. The sheath layer comprises an inner sheath layer, and an outer sheath layer covering the inner sheath layer. The inner sheath layer comprises a crosslinked very low density polyethylene. The main component of the outer sheath layer is polyurethane. Relative to 100 parts by mass of resin component in the inner sheath layer, the very low density polyethylene content is between 20 parts by mass and 100 parts by mass inclusive. The elastic modulus of the inner sheath layer at 25 C. is between 5 MPa and 30 MPa inclusive.
