It is an object of the present invention to provide a technology with which a protective portion with high protective capabilities is provided while avoiding an operation to switch out binding adhesive tape much as possible. A wire harness includes: a wire; and a tape-wrapping protective portion provided in at least a partial region along a longitudinal direction of the wire, the tape-wrapping protective portion including a spiral-wrapping portion in which an adhesive tape is wrapped in a spiral shape around the wire, and in the portion where the spiral-wrapping portion is provided, the adhesive tape being wrapped so as to form more than two layers.

Cable and Cable Assembly

A cable includes a pair of insulated core wires extending parallel to each other, each of the insulated core wires having a central conductor and a core insulation layer wrapped around the central conductor, an inner insulation layer wrapped around the core insulation layers, a metal shielding layer wrapped around the inner insulation layer, an outer insulation layer wrapped around the metal shielding layer, and a single drain wire disposed between the metal shielding layer and the outer insulation layer. The core insulation layers of the pair of insulated core wires abut against each other at a pair of first sides of the core insulation layers facing toward each other. The single drain wire is located at a second side of the core insulation layer of one of the pair of insulated core wires facing away from the other of the pair of insulated core wires in a radial direction.

Oscillating fluted outer covering for reduced wind drag

A cable that extends along a longitudinal axis between a first end and a second end. The cable includes a jacket defined about the longitudinal axis. The jacket includes a plurality of fluting elements between the cable first end and the cable second end. The fluting elements are configured to reduce the torsional forces of cross-wind.

CABLE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

Reinforced superconducting wire, superconducting cable, superconducting coil and superconducting magnet

A reinforced superconducting wire (1a) has a superconducting core strand (2) and a first cladding with a multitude of reinforcing strands (3). The reinforcing strands (3) are arranged around the circumferential surface of the superconducting core strand (2) in a non-crossing manner and are in contact with the core strand (2). The wire has a reinforcement for enhancing its mechanical properties against external stresses and for preventing diameter expansion during heat treatment. In addition to other advantages, such superconducting wire can be produced with an easy and low-cost production process.

COMPOSITE CABLE AND COMPOSITE HARNESS

A composite cable includes a pair of first electric wires, a twisted pair wire formed by twisting a pair of second electric wires having a smaller outer diameter than the first electric wires, a tape member wound into a spiral around an assembly that is formed by twisting the pair of first electric wires and the twisted pair wire together, and a sheath covering an outer periphery of the tape member. The tape member and the sheath includes an inwardly projecting part formed in a spiral along a cable longitudinal direction and formed so as to enter inward at least one of a valley part between the two first electric wires and valley parts between the first electric wires and the twisted pair wire. The inwardly projecting part has a projecting length of not less than 3% of an outer diameter of the first electric wires.

The subject matter of the invention is an adhesive tape, in particular a wrapping tape for sheathing cables in automobiles. The tape has a fabric backing (1, 3, 2, 4) in the form of a monoweave and an adhesive coating (7) on at least one side of the backing (1, 3, 2, 4). According to the invention, the monoweave is at least three-ply, and abrasion-resistant, non-connected warp threads (1, 3) form an outer layer and an inner layer. An intermediate layer made of weft threads (2, 4) is provided, the bonding points (5) of said layer coinciding with those of the outer layer and not with the bonding points (6) of the inner layer.
