The wire ropes and the signal cables are arranged in a central region of the cable; the filler is filled in the surrounding, and the fluororubber sheath is extruded outside the filler; and the signal cable comprises a conductor and an insulating bush, a sintered membrane is formed on an outer wall of the conductor, and the insulating bush is extruded outside the conductor.

A method for rejuvenating a strand-blocked cable having a conductor comprised of a plurality of conductor strands with interstitial volume therebetween blocked by a PIB based mastic, the conductor being surrounded by a polymeric cable insulation. The method comprising installing injection adapters that seal the cable ends of the cable and are usable to inject fluid into the interstitial volume between the conductor strands of the cable; elastically expanding the polymeric cable insulation through the application of pressure to the interstitial volume between the conductor strands of the cable; and injecting at least one injection fluid in which the PIB based mastic is mostly insoluble into the interstitial volume between the conductor strands of the cable.

A gas resistant pothead system includes a lead foil wrapped motor lead cable (MLE) extending through a pothead, a sleeve of an insulator block inside the pothead, the sleeve including gold plating and lead-foil wrapping over the gold plating, and a lead-to-gold seal formed between the gold plating of the sleeve and the lead foil wrapping over the gold plating. A method of creating a seal to gas around a power cable connection to a downhole electric submersible motor includes wrapping lead foil around a MLE extending through a pothead, continuing the lead foil wrapping around a gold-plated sleeve of an insulating block inside the pothead, mechanically reinforcing the lead foil with an encapsulant, and bonding the lead foil to the gold plating of the insulating block.

The nozzle is configured to be inserted into the port and has an internal fluid passageway through which the first fluid is injected into the accessory. The seal forms at least one fluid tight seal between the nozzle and the port. The fluid tight seal prevents the first fluid from exiting the accessory and flowing into an outer portion of the port and prevents a second fluid from flowing into an inner portion of the port. The first and second fluids have first and second voltage potentials, respectively. The second voltage potential is different from the first voltage potential. The seal isolates the first and second voltage potentials by isolating the first fluid from the second fluid.
