High performance data communications cable
Two electromagnetic interference (EMI) controlling tape application methodologies for unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable include Fixed Tape Control (FTC) and Oscillating Tape Control (OTC). In FTC, tape application angle and edge placement are controlled to maintain position of the tape edges over a base of nonconductive filler in the cable. In OTC, the tape application angle is continuously varied, resulting in crossing of the tape edges over all of the pairs of conductors with varying periodicity. In both implementations, the filler allows a cylindrical shape.
EXTENDED FREQUENCY RANGE BALANCED TWISTED PAIR TRANSMISSION LINE OR COMMUNICATION CABLE
A cable which comprises first, second, third and fourth twisted pairs, and each of the first, the second, the third and the fourth twisted pairs comprising first and second insulated conductors. Each one of the first, the second, the third and the fourth twisted pairs has a different lay length from one another with the first of the twisted pairs having a shortest lay length and the fourth of the twisted pairs having a longest lay length. The first and second insulated conductors of at least the fourth twisted pair, with the longest lay length, are bound together with one another by a wrap which prevents the first and second insulated conductors, of the fourth twisted pair, from becoming separated from one another during subsequent manufacture, handing and/or installation of the cable.

Method and machine for applying a polymer film to an electric conductor joint
A method for applying a polymer film onto an electric conductor joint includes providing an electric conductor joint (2) oriented in a cable direction (A1), providing a roll (32) with a polymer film (31), and securing an end of the polymer film (31) to the electric conductor joint (2). The roll is moved about the electric conductor joint thereby releasing the polymer film from the roll and rotating the roll about an longitudinal center axis. The roll is oriented with the longitudinal center axis parallel with the cable direction during the movement of the roll about the electric conductor joint.
DIELECTRIC STRUCTURE, A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF AND A FIRE RATED RADIO FREQUENCY CABLE HAVING THE DIELECTRIC STRUCTURE
An article of manufacture comprising a first section having a first dielectric material and a second section having a second dielectric material and provided on an outer surface of the first section. The second dielectric material of the second section is more flexible than the first dielectric material of the first section, and the second section comprises elements of an organic material located partially on an outer surface of the second section. A coaxial cable using the article of manufacture and a method of manufacturing of the article are also disclosed.
Fire resistant radiating coaxial cable
A fire resistant radiating coaxial cable that employs a high-silica fiberglass yarn spacer is described. The yarn material has mass fraction of silica (SiO.sub.2) between 95.0% and 96.5%, a mass fraction of aluminum oxide (Al.sub.2O.sub.3) greater than 3%, and a mass fraction of calcium oxide (CaO) less than 0.5%. The yarn can be wound in a low-helix-angle helix around the center conductor such that less than half fills the annular space between it and the outer conductor. The cable is configured to maintain a relatively coaxial relation between a center conductor and an outer conductor under intense fire conditions.
Electrical cable with dielectric film
A cable includes an inner conductor and a dielectric layer extending around the inner conductor. The dielectric layer includes a linearly-stretched polypropylene film having a porous structure that includes a plurality of pores that extend through a thickness of the linearly-stretched polypropylene film. The dielectric layer includes air molecules trapped within the pores of the linearly-stretched polypropylene film such that the dielectric layer includes polypropylene and air. The cable includes an outer conductor extending around the dielectric layer.
MC cable with tearable assembly tape
Disclosed is an armored cable assembly including a core having a notched assembly tape about a plurality of conductors. A metal sheath surrounds the core.
