Moisture-curable adhesive tape and method for jacketing elongated items, especially leads
The present invention relates to an adhesive tape and to a method for jacketing an elongated item, more particularly cable sets. The adhesive tape must cure within the operational dictates for further processing, e.g. within 6 min, and after curing must exhibit the required dimensional stability properties. However, the adhesive compositions must not cure during storage itself, since otherwise they can no longer be used. Nor may the curing temperatures be too high, since otherwise the lead insulation, which is often made of PVC, may suffer damage. The invention proposes a method for jacketing an elongated item such as more particularly leads or cable sets, where a tape which comprises a moisture-curing binder on a carrier is first impregnated with water and immediately thereafter is guided in a helical line around the elongated item or the elongated item is wrapped in an axial direction by the adhesive tape, the elongated item together with the adhesive tape wrapping is brought into the desired disposition, more particularly into the cable set plan, the elongated item is held in this disposition, while the curable adhesive cures. Alternatively proposed is a method for jacketing an elongated item such as more particularly leads or cable sets, where a tape which comprises a moisture-curing binder on a carrier is guided in a helical line around the elongated item or the elongated item is wrapped in an axial direction by the adhesive tape, the elongated item together with the adhesive tape wrapping is brought into the desired disposition, more particularly into the cable set plan, the elongated item is held in this disposition, and the curable adhesive is brought to cure by the supply of moisture.

Wire harness sheet, wire harness, and method of manufacturing wire harness
A wire harness sheet includes a sheet base material that has a rectangular shape formed by a pair of first side portion and a second side portion in parallel with each other and by a third side portion and a fourth side portion orthogonal to the first side portion and the second side portion; an adhesive layer that is provided on one surface of the sheet base material; and a slit which is cut into the sheet base material in such a manner that the slit is formed along and in parallel with each the third side portion and the fourth side portion between each the first side portion and the second side portion, and a placement region of an electric wire bundle.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEALING A WIRING-HARNESS
A method of sealing a wiring-harness includes the steps of: a) dispensing a length of a sealing-tape onto a platform, the sealing-tape having a first-surface and a second-surface opposite the first-surface. b) separating a plurality of wire-cables from a portion of the wiring-harness. c) applying the plurality of wire-cables to a first-half of the first-surface of the sealing-tape. d) folding a second-half of the sealing-tape over the separated plurality of wire-cables such that the second-half overlays the first-half. e) pressing the second-half of the sealing-tape such that the second-half contacts the first-half between the separated plurality of wire-cables, thereby forming a cable-band. f) coiling the cable-band into a generally cylindrical-shaped seal. g) compressing the cylindrical-shaped seal isostatically such that interstitial-voids within the cylindrical-shaped seal are reduced in size.
An apparatus for sealing a wiring-harness is also provided.
TAPING HEAD
A taping head for taping a wire harness with tape of a tape roll includes a base body and a rotatable tape dispenser with a mouth and mandrel for receiving the tape roll. The tape dispenser is configured to rotate the tape roll and is mounted to the base body by means of a quick-release coupling.

Tape dispensing tool
A tape dispensing tool includes a hub, a fixed holder arm, and an adjustable holder arm. The hub extends through a core of a roll of tape. The fixed holder arm extends from the hub along a first side of the roll of tape and has a fixed orientation relative to the hub. The fixed holder arm includes a first cradle configured to receive a cable bundle therein. The adjustable holder arm extends from the hub along an opposite, second side of the roll of tape. The adjustable holder arm includes a second cradle configured to receive the cable bundle therein. The adjustable holder arm has an adjustable position relative to the hub and the fixed holder arm to select an angular position of the second cradle relative to the first cradle for setting an overlap amount as the tape is applied to the cable bundle.
