A system and method for monitoring performance of a physical exercise routine. The system comprises a plurality of motion and position sensors configured to generate sensory information including at least a rate of movements of a user performing the physical exercise routine; a database containing routine information representing at least an optimal execution of the physical exercise routine; a training module configured to: compare the generated sensory information to the routine information to detect at least dissimilarities respective thereof, wherein the dissimilarities indicate if the pace of performing the physical exercise routine is incorrect; provide feedback to the user with at least instructions related to correcting the pace of performing the physical exercise routine; and a display for displaying the feedback.
System and method for tracking a projectile
An apparatus comprising a practice device for practice of hitting a tennis ball includes a server configured for serving the tennis ball to a user, a net disposed to intercept a flight of the tennis ball after the tennis bell has been hit by the user using a racket and to direct the captured tennis ball back towards the server to be served again to the user, an image detector configured to observe the tennis ball as the tennis ball hurtles towards the net, and a processor. The processor determines, based at least in part on image frames received from the image detector, data indicative of the tennis ball's virtual landing spot. This virtual landing spot is an estimate of where the tennis ball would have landed on an opposing court had the tennis ball not been intercepted by the net.
Object fitting using quantitative biomechanical-based analysis
Systems and methods are disclosed for generating a 3D avatar and object fitting recommendations using a biomechanical analysis of observed actions with a focus on representing actions through computer-generated 3D avatars. Physical quantities of biomechanical actions can be measured from the observations, and the system can analyze these values, compare them to target or optimal values, and use the observations and known biomechanical capabilities to generate the 3D avatars and object fitting recommendations.
SMART FLEXIBLE EXERCISE WEIGHT
A flexible weight that can be secured to a wearer during performance of an exercise. The weight is segmented, with each segment from a set of segments including an associated bolster-shaped unit having a plurality of pellets suspended in a cured gel, the pellets/gel being positioned within a casing. The set of segments is contained within an outer pouch that is substantially conformal with the set of segments, and the segments from the set of segments are arranged in a linear array. The weight also includes an endcap with a colored light indicator and electronics for communicating with a smart mirror.

MEASURING A PULL FORCE ON AN EXERCISE BAND
A patient can undergo physical therapy to rehabilitate a musculoskeletal condition. The success of the rehabilitation relies in part on whether the patient uses an exercise band with the correct resistance for their condition. In order to select the correct resistance, a controller can instruct the patient to perform a directed movement with an exercise band, receive exercise data from at least one sensor (e.g., a camera, like a front-facing camera, that records the patient, a plurality of sensors on or near the patient's skin, etc.) as the subject performs the directed movement, and calculate a pull force exerted by the patient on the exercise band based on at least a portion of the exercise data. The adequacy of an exercise with the exercise band for the patient is determined based on the pull force can be determined based on the calculated pull force.
GOLF TRAINING SYSTEM AND METHODS
A golf training system generally includes a photoluminescent light-reactive surface and a light source that is placed on a golf club. During a training stroke performed over the photoluminescent surface, the light source excites phosphors in the light-reactive surface during a stroke and in doing so creates a transient visible “record” of the precise track the club head makes during the stroke. In some embodiments, the system can include a training ball having a phosphorescent material affixed to or integrated into the surface of the ball so that a light source placed on the golf club excites the phosphorescent material and indicates the point of contact between the golf club and the training ball.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REMOTELY PROVIDING AND MONITORING PHYSICAL THERAPY
An apparatus, a method, and a computer program product for use in performing, monitoring, and evaluating the performance of therapeutic exercises. The apparatus includes a human-device interface and a motion sensor. In response to movement of the human-device interface, a controller receives motion data from the motion sensor, and transmits the motion data to a computing device. Based on the motion data, the computing device displays a graphical element that depicts the movement. The computing device compares the movement to a target motion, and if the movement matches the target motion, displays a graphical element indicating an exercise is being performed properly. If the movement does not match the target motion, the computing device indicates the exercise is not being performed properly and displays another graphical element indicating how to correct the motion.

An athletic training system has a data recording system and a data engine. The data recording system is configured to record an athletic competition event. The event may have a first team of players competing against a second team of players. The data engine is configured to receive data associated with the recorded athletic competition event. The data engine processes the data and displays the data as a replay of the event in animated form.
