A magnetic structure in a power converter includes at least two multilayer boards, such as a primary board containing the primary windings and some auxiliary windings, and a secondary board containing the secondary windings and some auxiliary windings. The primary and secondary boards are on top of each other. On the layer on the primary bard adjacent to the secondary board, is a dual function shield to reduce the total common mode noise in the converter towards zero. The controlled dual function shield can be placed on the secondary board on the layer adjacent to the primary board, and in some embodiments can be placed on both primary and secondary board on the layers adjacent to the other board. The embodiments herein offer a very good solution for cost reduction of the planar transformers and offers an avenue for total elimination of the common mode noise in a power converter.

An inductor skeleton structure includes a pedestal and a main winding part. The pedestal includes a base, a fixing part and an auxiliary winding part, the fixing part is disposed on the base, and the auxiliary winding part is extended away from the base from a side surface; the main winding part has a main winding groove; the main winding part is fixed on a side of the base by the fixing part; the auxiliary winding part is used for winding an auxiliary coil capable of covering at least a portion of the welding surface; and the auxiliary coil is flush with or beyond the fitting surface.

SHIELDED ELECTRICAL TRANSFORMER

Shielded electrical transformers and power converters using those transformers are disclosed. In some implementations, a shielded electrical transformer includes a magnetic core, a primary winding, a first secondary winding, and a second secondary winding. The transformer includes a first shielding winding that has a same voltage potential direction as the primary winding and is connected in series with the primary winding to carry current that passes through the primary winding. The transformer also includes a second shielding winding that has a voltage potential direction opposite the primary winding and is connected from primary ground to a floating terminal. The first secondary winding, the second secondary winding, the first shielding winding, and the second shielding winding can each have an approximately equal number of turns.

A transformer structure is disclosed to reduce common mode noise on an output load. The transformer structure includes a bobbin mounted on a magnetic core, a plurality of windings wound around the bobbin. The plurality of windings include a primary winding coupled to receive an input voltage, a secondary winding coupled to an output load; and a floating auxiliary winding located between the primary and secondary winding. The floating auxiliary winding includes a first terminal and a second terminal coupled to a pair of external float wires extended towards an isolation mounting sheet placed adjacent to an exterior top surface of the transformer structure. The pair of external float wires forms parallel adjacent and open-ended conductive traces with a predefined pattern on the isolation mounting sheet placed above the exterior surface of the transformer structure.

Electronic package for an electrically small device with integrated magnetic field bias

An electronic package includes a mounting platform for mounting an electrically small device, at least one coil, and an insulator. The coil regulates a magnetic field through the electrically small device at the mounting platform. The coil is adapted to conduct a current for nullifying the magnetic field through the electrically small device at the mounting platform. The insulator is between the mounting platform and the coil for isolating the electrically small device from the coil. An electronic circuit includes this electronic package and the electrically small device mounted at the mounting platform of the electronic package. The electrically small device can be a quantum device and/or a topological device when cooled to a cryogenic temperature. The magnetic field is nullified to prevent the magnetic field from adversely affecting the electrically small device.

The first shielding coil segment includes a first shielding static electrical point and a first shielding free end. The second shielding coil segment includes a second shielding static electrical point and a second shielding free end. The winding direction of the first shielding coil segment is the same as the secondary coil, and the winding direction of the first shielding coil segment is opposite to the second shielding coil segment.
