The inventive apparatus comprises a mat member. The mat includes a scale physically secured to the mat member. The scale has an electrical output strives an electronic circuit. A display displays a weight measured by the scale. A switch is distributed over an area roughly commensurate with the area needed to trot in place. The switch is secured to the mat and underlies a top surface of the mat. The switch is coupled to the electronic circuit. The electronic circuit is programmed to count the number of times that the switch is closed, whereby trotting in place results in closing the switch in response to trotting paces. The above transducers are used to monitor and crosscheck activity and dietary information input into the system by the user and make recommendations.

EXERCISER MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF OPERATION OF THE SYSTEM

A monitoring system is disclosed for the regulation of the weight of a dumbbell, employable by a user for the execution of a gymnastic exercise, comprising a supporting frame, a dumbbell, placed on said supporting frame, equipped with a handle, having an axial development along an axis (R), capable of rotating around said axis (R), clockwise and counterclockwise, and equipped with a first end and a second end, a first plurality of weights, placed on said supporting frame, in which each weight is individually coupable to said first end by a first selection member, when said handle rotates one way, and detachable from said first end, when said handle rotates the opposite way, a second plurality of weights, placed on said supporting frame, in which each weight is individually coupable to said second end by a second selection member, when said handle rotates one way, and detachable from said second end, when said handle rotates the opposite way, said system comprising at least one detection device capable of detecting at least one physical phenomenon caused by the rotation of said handle to couple or detach one or more weights of said first and second plurality of weights to and from said handle.

Exercise Machine with Levitated Platform

An improved exercise machine has a stationary longitudinal monorail structure that extends between front and back end stationary exercise platforms, and an exercise platform mounted on a levitated carriage that is reciprocally movable along the monorail between the stationary platforms. Magnetic elements arranged on various opposing surfaces of the carriage and monorail generate magnetic forces that levitate and stabilize the carriage as it moves relative to the monorail thus substantially eliminating contact friction. Springs selectively attachable to the movable platform provide a resistance force for exercising. Pseudo-levitation and eddy brake elements on the carriage and monorail structure further stabilize the carriage and platform.

REFLECTIVE VIDEO DISPLAY APPARATUS FOR INTERACTIVE TRAINING AND DEMONSTRATION AND METHODS OF USING SAME

An interactive exercise method includes streaming exercise content to an interactive video system for display via a mirror, the exercise content including a depiction of an instructor performing a repetitive movement. A video stream of a user performing the repetitive movement is received, via a camera of the interactive video system, and the user is detected in the video stream. The user or a body portion thereof is tracked in the video stream as the user performs the repetitive movement. The method also includes generating a measure of a difference between a form of the user performing the repetitive movement and a predetermined form for the repetitive movement. A corrective movement is displayed to the user, via the display and during the display of the instructor performing the repetitive movement, based on the measure, to conform the form of the user to the predetermined form for the repetitive movement.
