The second winding is configured to obtain the set of electrical current measurements associated with the operation of the industrial machine. The first winding and the second winding are each configured to generate respective outputs based on the set of electrical current measurements. The respective outputs are configured to be used to reduce the occurrence of a distortion of the set of electrical current measurements based on a temperature of the core.

The present invention provides a trip control circuit for a circuit breaker capable of breaking a circuit when a fault current occurs due to a DC current component, as well as an AC current. The trip control circuit comprises a current transformer that has a core allowing a circuit to pass through and a secondary coil for detecting a current flowing on the circuit and providing a current detection signal; an oscillation circuit section that configured to apply an electrical signal to the secondary coil to increase a slope of a hysteresis loop of the current transformer to allow the secondary coil to detect a DC current and an AC current; and a trip determining circuit section that configured to compare a current value indicated by the current detection signal with a predetermined reference current value.

According to one aspect, embodiments of the invention provide a system for monitoring a load center including a plurality of current sensors, a communication bus, a plurality of sensor circuits, a power module configured to be coupled to a load center input line and to receive input AC power from the input line, a collector, and a cable configured to be coupled between the power module and the collector, wherein the power module is further configured to provide power to the plurality of sensor circuits via the communication bus, provide power to the collector via the cable, measure at least one of voltage, frequency and phase of input AC power and provide signals related to the measured voltage, frequency or phase to the collector via the cable, receive current measurement signals from the plurality of sensor circuits and provide the received current measurement signals to the collector via the cable.
