An electrolytic capacitor that includes a cuboidal resin molding including a first end surface, a second end surface, a laminate of capacitor elements each including an anode and a cathode opposite to the anode, and a sealing resin sealing the laminate; a first external electrode on the first end surface of the resin molding and electrically connected to the anode exposed at the first end surface; and a second external electrode on the second end surface of the resin molding and electrically connected to the cathode exposed at the second end surface, wherein the first external electrode includes, sequentially from a side thereof adjacent to the first end surface of the resin molding, a first thermal spraying electrode layer and a second thermal spraying electrode layer in contact with the first thermal spraying electrode layer and having a higher porosity than the first thermal spraying electrode layer.

An electrolytic capacitor includes a capacitor element, a liquid component, a case housing the capacitor element and the liquid component, and a sealing member sealing the case. the capacitor element includes a porous sintered body including a dielectric layer, a cathode foil facing at least a part of the porous sintered body, and a conductive polymer covering at least a part of a surface of the dielectric layer. The conductive polymer is in contact with the cathode foil. And a void in the capacitor element is impregnated with the liquid component.

A cathode subassembly for use in an electrolytic capacitor may include a first separator sheet including a surface having first and second regions, where the second region extends from a perimeter of the first region to a first peripheral edge of the first sheet, a second peripheral edge of a second sheet is substantially aligned with the first peripheral edge, a conductive foil is sandwiched between the first and second sheets and disposed within the first region, the first and second sheets are adhered to each other in a sealing region extending from the second region to a region of a surface of the second sheet facing the second region, and the first sheet includes at least one first recess portion at the first peripheral edge aligned with at least one second recess portion at the second peripheral edge of the second sheet.

A cathode subassembly for use in an electrolytic capacitor may include a first separator sheet including a surface having first and second regions, where the second region extends from a perimeter of the first region to a first peripheral edge of the first sheet, a second peripheral edge of a second sheet is substantially aligned with the first peripheral edge, a conductive foil is sandwiched between the first and second sheets and disposed within the first region, the first and second sheets are adhered to each other in a sealing region extending from the second region to a region of a surface of the second sheet facing the second region, and the first sheet includes at least one first recess portion at the first peripheral edge aligned with at least one second recess portion at the second peripheral edge of the second sheet.

A capacitor header for coupling a voltage output from a capacitor, which allows the capacitor to store a large amount of charge and then discharge this as a high voltage, while reducing the risk of dielectric breakdown. The capacitor header includes a live output plate connected to a central live conductor of the capacitor and a ground output plate connected to a ground conductor of the capacitor. The capacitor header also includes first and second insulating members, which both have non-planar mating surfaces that interleave to form a non-linear path. An insulating seal is included between the non-planar mating surfaces. The capacitor header also includes two sets of insulating sheets. The sets of insulating sheets extend beyond an outer perimeter of the live output plate and the ground output plate.
