METAL ION CAPACITOR BASED ON HARD CARBON AS NEGATIVE ELECTRODE AND A MIXTURE OF ACTIVATED CARBON AND SACRIFICIAL SALT AS THE POSITIVE ELECTRODE
A metal ion capacitor with outstanding power capabilities having a negative electrode based on hard carbon (HC) and a positive electrode based on a combination of activated carbon (AC) and a sacrificial salt selected from the group consisting of squarate, oxalate, ketomalonate and di-ketosuccinate or a combination thereof. The sacrificial salt is added to AC in the positive electrode as a source of metal ions for pre-doping the HC and to efficiently compensate its high irreversible capacity by providing the metal ions necessary for the formation of solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) on the hard carbon, allowing for a 1:1 and superior mass balances between anode and cathode. Advantageously, the extraordinary performance of this approach has been successfully demonstrated not only in lithium ion capacitors (LICs) but also in other metal ion capacitors such as sodium and potassium ion capacitors.
NICKEL FOAM -SUPPORTED DEFECTIVE TRICOBALT TETROXIDE NANOMATERIAL, LOW TEMPERATURE RESISTANT SUPERCAPACITOR AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
The present invention relates to the field of electrode material of a low temperature resistant supercapacitor, and in particular to a nickel foam-supported defective tricobalt tetroxide nanomaterial, a low temperature resistant supercapacitor and a preparation method thereof. The method includes the following steps: dissolving cobalt acetate in an ethylene glycol solution and stirring uniformly to obtain a pink transparent solution; adding hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide to the pink transparent solution, and stirring until the hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide dissolves to obtain a mixed solution; putting the mixed solution into a teflon-lined reactor, adding pretreated nickel foam for hydrothermal reaction, taking out the nickel foam after the reaction is completed, and ultrasonic cleaning the nickel foam repeatedly before drying; and heat-treating the nickel foam obtained after drying. The defective tricobalt tetroxide (D-Co.sub.3O.sub.4) grown on the nickel foam prepared by the present invention still has a high specific capacity at a low temperature, and the assembled supercapacitor can withstand low temperature, and thus has great application prospects.
TWO-DIMENSIONAL NI-ORGANIC FRAMEWORK/RGO COMPOSITE AND ELECTRODE FOR SECONDARY BATTERY OR SUPER-CAPACITOR COMPRISING SAME
The present disclosure relates to a two-dimensional Ni-organic framework/rGO composite including: a two-dimensional electroconductive Ni-organic framework in which Ni and an organic ligand containing a substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.6-C.sub.30 arylhexamine are repeatedly bonded in a branched form; and reduced graphene oxide (rGO). Thus, when a composite of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and a two-dimensional Ni-MOF is prepared and used as an energy storage electrode material, the two-dimensional Ni-organic framework/rGO composite of the present disclosure can exhibit higher discharge capacity per weight due to the synergistic effect of rGO and Ni-MOF as compared to when Ni-MOF is used alone, and the composite can be used to manufacture a thin-film type electrode, which can be used as a next-generation energy storage electrode having high mechanical bending strength and energy density per volume.
