Protective Headgear and Shoulder Pad Apparatus and Methods
20190307198 · 2019-10-10 ·

The invention includes a protective headpiece and components thereof and methods for their use. Preferred examples comprise a helmet component, a plurality of piers joining said helmet component to a shoulder pad component and an inner hat component permitting the wearer the ability to move the head from side to side and/or up and down within the helmet component without moving the helmet component. The helmet component may comprise a plurality of fluid-filled floating plates or floats on the inner surface thereof to cushion the head against impact during activities including, for example, football, race car driving, military activities and the like.

HEAD AND NECK RESTRAINT DEVICE WITH DYNAMIC ARTICULATION
20190282887 · 2019-09-19 ·

A head and neck restraint device for high performance race car drivers. The device includes a yoke, a collar and a pair of legs. The yoke and/or collar are adapted to pivotably articulate with respect to the legs. At least a portion of each leg can flex in response to force.

Methods and devices to reduce the likelihood of injury from concussive or blast forces

A method and device for reducing the damaging effects of radiant energy, blast, or concussive events includes applying pressure to at least one jugular vein to reduce the egress of blood from the cranial cavity during or before the incidence of the imparting event. Reducing blood outflow from the cranial cavity increases intracranial volume and/or pressure of the cerebrospinal fluid to reduce the risk of traumatic brain injury and injuries to the spinal column. Reducing blood outflow further increases the intracranial pressure and volume, and thereby increases the pressure and volume of the cochlear fluid, the vitreous humor and the cerebrospinal fluid to thereby reduce the risk of injury to the inner ear, internal structure of the eye and of the spinal column. In addition, increasing intracranial pressure and volume reduces the likelihood of brain injury and any associated loss of olfactory function.

PROTECTIVE MASK
20190261723 · 2019-08-29 ·

A protective mask includes a main frame body made of magnesium alloy and having an imaginary vertical central line. The main frame body has a plurality of first rods arranged along the central line, a plurality of second rods, and at least one first protrusion. Each of the first rods has spaced-apart first front and rear surfaces, and two opposite first connecting surfaces interconnecting the first front and rear surfaces. A thickness between the first front and rear surfaces is larger than a thickness between the first connecting surfaces. Each of the second rods is connected between two adjacent ones of the first rods. The first protrusion protrudes from the first front surface of one of the first rods.

It can be used with dumbbells, barbells, free weights, or any other weight applied over the joints or musculoskeletal regions, making it highly versatile for various exercise.

APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR REDUCING HEAD OR NECK TRAUMA

Apparatus, systems, and methods are provided for the reduction of head or neck trauma in a living being by mitigating the acceleration experienced by the head, relative to the torso, during a change in motion; for example, creating a neck support that provides improved extension, compression, rotation, and bending properties to the neck in order to control the acceleration experienced by the head. The apparatus can be configured to create a neck support in which acceleration of the head, relative to the torso, is reduced with minimal structure, discomfort, and other potential downsides to the user of the apparatus.
