Safety switch and associated methods
A cable pull switch includes a polychotomous sensor configured to provide a reading of at least one of a plurality of values, the reading corresponding to a tension on a pull cable or a linear displacement of an end of a pull cable. A processing device is configured to receive the reading, determine whether a value of the reading is outside of a non-tripped value window, a limit edge being a pull threshold value, and responsively generate an output signal indicative of a cable pull event. Other features and improvements are described.

ACTUATING DEVICE
An actuating device for a switching apparatus of a switch panel of electrical energy technology, in particular of medium-voltage technology, comprises an operable drive unit, in particular a manually operable drive unit, a pivot unit that can be mechanically coupled to the switching apparatus, and a pulling cable via which the pivot unit is mechanically connected to the drive unit.
Robot and emergency stop method of robot
A robot includes a power source of the robot, and a switch section adapted to block electrical power supply to the power source. The switch section is disposed on a front side of the robot arranged to face to a workbench when at work. The switch section blocks the electrical power supply to the power source in a case in which it is detected that a distance between the robot and the workbench is longer than a predetermined distance.
Devices, systems, methods, and kits for remotely operating a switch
Devices, systems, methods, and kits for remotely operating a switch are described herein. An example embodiment of a system for remotely operating a switch comprises a plate, a connecting member, a first fastener, a second fastener, a first attachment member, a second attachment member, a first wire member, a second wire member, and a pulling member. The plate has a body that defines a first bend and a second bend and is releasably attached to the handle of a switch. During use, an operator utilizes the first and second wire members to moved the switch between an open state and a closed state.
Disconnection assembly for tethered electric vehicle
An electric vehicle is supplied with power from a power supply via a cable suspended from an anchor. The anchor is attached to a mount on the vehicle and detachable from the mount by tension in the first portion of the cable between the anchor and the power supply. A second portion of the cable between the anchor and the vehicle remains slack in the attached position of the anchor, and extends on detachment of the anchor to relieve tension in the first portion of the cable. A disconnection switch is operable by detachment of the anchor to interrupt the power supply from the cable to the vehicle.
Protective safety glove
A safety apparatus to facilitate safe operation of an industrial machine. The safety apparatus includes a glove body, a coupling element, and a latch assembly. The glove body includes a hand portion and a contiguous wrist portion configured to entirely cover a hand, thumb, fingers, and wrist of a user. The coupling element is mechanically fixed to a dorsal side of the wrist portion near the bottom edge and includes a loop member engaged with an attachment ring. The latch assembly is releasably coupled to the attachment ring and securely attached to a kill cord configured to releasably engage a control switch of an industrial machine.
