POWER CONTACTOR COMPRISING A PYROTECHNIC ACTUATOR
A power contactor including: a fixed part; a movable part able to come into contact with the fixed part and to move between an open position and a closed position of the contactor, the movable part including at least one power contact; an auxiliary contact and a pyrotechnic actuator, the auxiliary contact and the pyrotechnic actuator being placed in parallel with the power contact, and the pyrotechnic actuator being configured to be triggered during a levitation of the contactor in such a way as to move the contactor into the open position; and a motor configured to actuate the movable part and to put it in contact with the fixed part characterized in that the power contact and the auxiliary contact are desynchronized in such a way that when the contactor is closed, the power contact comes into contact with the fixed part before the auxiliary contact
Electric switching device for an energy accumulator in an electric vehicle
The invention relates to an electric switching device (10) for an energy accumulator in an electric vehicle, comprising a housing (20) inside which at least one switching section (30) that includes two input contacts (32a, 32b) and at least one output contact (34) is arranged, and a rotary component (40) which is mounted in such a way as to be rotatable relative to the housing (20) about a switching axis (42) between at least one OFF position (I), a series-connecting position (II), and an ON position (III); said rotary component (40) includes at least one conductor (44) which has at least two conductor contacts (44a, 44b) and which connects the first input contact (32a) in an electrically conducting manner to the output contact (34) in the series-connecting position (II) and connects the second input contact (32b) in an electrically conducting manner to the output contact (34) of the at least one switching section (30) in the ON position (III).
Electrical switching apparatus and slot motor therefor
A slot motor is for an electrical switching apparatus. The slot motor includes: a support apparatus including a support element having a first leg and a second leg located opposite the first leg, the first leg having a first inner surface, the second leg having a second inner surface facing the first inner surface; a plurality of permanent magnets including a first permanent magnet and a second permanent magnet, the first permanent magnet being located on the first leg, the second permanent magnet being located on the second leg; and a number of U-shaped plates coupled to the support element. The first inner surface and the second inner surface are located between the first permanent magnet and the second permanent magnet.
Power contactor comprising a pyrotechnic actuator
A power contactor including: a fixed part; a movable part able to come into contact with the fixed part and to move between an open position and a closed position of the contactor, the movable part including at least one power contact; an auxiliary contact and a pyrotechnic actuator, the auxiliary contact and the pyrotechnic actuator being placed in parallel with the power contact, and the pyrotechnic actuator being configured to be triggered during a levitation of the contactor in such a way as to move the contactor into the open position; and a motor configured to actuate the movable part and to put it in contact with the fixed part characterized in that the power contact and the auxiliary contact are desynchronized in such a way that when the contactor is closed, the power contact comes into contact with the fixed part before the auxiliary contact.
High Efficiency Uninterruptible Power Supply with Near Loss-Less Ultrafast Electromechanical Switching
A UPS system and mechanical switching arrangement therefor that is driven by an electromechanical actuator when a fault condition is detected thereby opening or closing a switch of the switching arrangement in response thereto within 8 milliseconds, preferably within 4 milliseconds, and more preferably within 2 milliseconds of a fault condition being detected. The UPS system has one switching arrangement for controlling current flow through a utility power path that is switched by an electromechanical actuator and another switching arrangement for controlling that is switched by an electromechanical actuator through an inverter power path that supplies an output-connected load with electrical power should a fault condition occur. The switching arrangements can be driven by a common electromechanical actuator or independent driven by separate electromechanical actuators enabling programmability of a plurality of different UPS system operating modes.
Slot motor, slot motor cover, slot motor—arc plate assembly, and methods of operation
A slot motor apparatus for a circuit breaker is disclosed. The slot motor has first and second legs connected by a thin web, and an extending portion extending rearward from the rear faces of the legs. Slot motor-arc plate assemblies having an arc plate assembly received at least partially overtop of the extending portion are also disclosed, as are assemblies having the arc plate assembly received very close to the rear faces of the slot motor legs. Circuit breakers, slot motor-arc plate assemblies, slot motor covers, and methods of operating the slot motor-arc plate assemblies are disclosed, as are other aspects.
ACTUATOR APPARATUS FOR ELECTRICAL PANEL SWITCH
An actuator is disposed on a face of a circuit breaker panel positioned at a switch lever of a circuit breaker for moving the switch lever. A shaft selectively moves between an extended position and a retracted positon. An arm extends substantially perpendicular to the shaft. A manually disconnectable coupling is between the shaft and the arm. The arm is configured to fit on the face in a position to automatically move the switch lever into an electrically open positon from an electrically closed position upon activation of the actuator. The manually disconnectable coupling disconnects the shaft from the arm before a user manually moves the switch lever back into the electrically closed position. The manually disconnectable coupling has a manually removable pin. The actuator is a liner actuator and can be a rotational actuator.
