Low friction rehabilitation board with an integral band retaining feature and methods of rehabilitation
A low friction rehabilitation board having an integral band retaining feature is described. The rehabilitation board may have a coefficient of static friction of no more than about 0.5 and in some embodiments no more than about 0.06. The rehabilitation board has a plurality of band retaining feature configured along one or both ends and may be an integral band retaining features being formed in the board. Additionally, the rehabilitation may include one or more band retaining features on one or both sides of the board. The unique configuration of the band retaining features enables rehabilitation method heretofore not possible with a single board. Resistance bands may be retained in the band retaining features and coupled to a users limb, such as a foot or ankle, to resist motion, such as sliding or extending the foot along the low friction surface of the rehabilitation board.
PULL DOWN EXERCISE APPARATUS
Apparatus for performing a pull down exercise comprising: a frame, a seat, an input arm assembly interconnected to a resistance mechanism and a manually graspable mechanism disposed vertically above the user's trunk in a start sitting exercise position, the input arm assembly being pivotably mounted on the frame for back and forth travel along a generally forward to rearward direction and along a generally side to side direction orthogonal to the forward to rearward direction, the input arm assembly being rotatably pivotable around a first linear axis and a second linear axis in the respective directions on exertion by the user of a rearwardly downwardly directed force on the manually graspable mechanism.
FACILITATED STRETCHING MACHINE
A system to facilitate stretching for a user, including a force-applying component and a subject-engaging surface, such that the force applying element is attached to a first end of a rotatable element that rotates about a first point of secured support, or fulcrum, and the subject engaging surface is operatively connected to a second end of said rotatable element, such that application of force via the force-applying component causes rotational movement of the subject-engaging surface toward the user.
FITNESS APPARATUS
An exercise apparatus is provided having a handle pivotally attached to a flat base, the base and handle having optional weights, the flat base providing resistance when the handle moves the base along a surface.
Abdominal exercise apparatus
An exercise apparatus for performing a back extension exercise comprising: a frame, a seat having a seating surface (PS) and a pelvic stabilization pad having a lower back engagement surface (ES), an input arm assembly interconnected by a first interconnection to a first resistance mechanism, the input arm assembly including a manually graspable mechanism and being arranged on the apparatus such that the input arm assembly is pivotable beginning from a start motionless position along a path of travel forwardly away from the pelvic stabilization pad under resistance exerted by one or both of the resistance mechanisms, wherein the first resistance mechanism is adapted to increase resistance as the degree of pivoting of the input arm assembly increases along the path of travel forwardly away from the pelvic stabilization pad.
MOTORIZED RECUMBENT THERAPEUTIC AND EXERCISE DEVICE
A device for therapy or exercise is provided that includes a frame, a base at least partially supporting and extending from the frame, a user support moveably coupled to the base and positioned adjacent the frame, a foot crank system coupled to the frame, a hand crank system coupled to the frame, and a motor coupled to at least one of the foot crank system and the hand crank system. The motor selectively powers the foot crank system and the hand crank system and comprises an active mode and a passive mode.
Exercise machine with stationary bicycle and inflatable seat
An exercise machine may include a frame with set of foot pedals mounted thereon. A seat-receiving space is defined by the frame rearward of the set of pedals and a seat that is in the form of an inflatable bladder is received within the seat-receiving space. The inflatable bladder is retained within the frame in such a way that the bladder is able to move within the frame when the exercise machine is used. A seat back extends upwardly of and adjacent the inflatable seat and supports a user's back while the user is seated on the inflatable seat. Left and right arms are secured to the frame and extend respectively to the left and right of the inflatable seat. The user may undertake a cardiovascular workout and a core workout of abdominal and back muscles using the exercise machine.
Bed exercise systems and methods
In an example, a bed exercise system includes a foot pad and first and second elastic connectors. The foot pad includes a rigid support member. The first elastic connector has a first end coupled to a first lateral side of the foot pad and a second end for coupling to a support structure. The second elastic connector has a first end coupled to a second lateral side of the foot pad and a second end coupling to the support structure. When the second ends of the first and second elastic connectors are coupled to the support structure: (i) the foot pad is movable between a first position and a second position relative to the support structure, and (ii) a tension on the first elastic connector and a tension on the second elastic connector increases as the foot pad moves from the first position to the second position.
Stretching apparatus and method of stretching
A hands-free human exercise apparatus and method, including a method of use. The stretching apparatus and method promote beneficial stretching of ambulatory muscles for a broad spectrum of users, to maintain and increase flexibility and dexterity, improved joint health, mobility, or pain management, and facilitating greater balance and proprioception and stimulating rehabilitation. The apparatus includes a multi-directional, multi-configurable, and adjustable harness comprising a one or dual strap configuration having a unique multi-joint activating foot anchor. The apparatus and method facilitate stretching of a single leg, or both legs, through the ambulatory chain of muscles and joints, and with the foot anchor exploiting the flexion of the spine, full extension of the leg and pelvis, and the full flexion of the user's foot.
ARM EXTENSION EXERCISE APPARATUS
Apparatus for performing an arm extension exercise comprising: a frame, a seat having a seating surface (S), an elbow pad having an engaging surface (ES), an input arm assembly interconnected to a resistance mechanism and a manually graspable mechanism, the input arm assembly being adapted to reside in a start motionless position (SMP) that disposes the manually graspable mechanism in a start exercise position (SEP) that is disposed vertically above UW) the user's elbows, the input arm assembly being pivotable around a linear axis disposed rearwardly of the user's elbow.
