The holding portion can be received between the inner thighs of a user to add resistance when performing various exercises, such as leg lifts, planks, pull-ups, dips, and the like. In some embodiments, the body includes a weight receiving channel extending therethrough, wherein an elongated weight is positioned within the weight receiving channel.

Adjustable exercise machine

An adjustable exercise machine for performing resistance exercises comprises a base and an upper frame including front and back end stationary exercise platforms, and a movable exercise platform that reciprocates between the stationary platforms. A plurality of biasing members is selectable by an exerciser via selector knobs to generate a bias force against the movable platform. A plurality of pivotable lift supports are connected between the base and the upper frame. Front and back actuators are connected between the base and the lift supports by lifting yokes to selectively raise and lower the front and back ends of the machine. The movable platform may be connected to move along the exercise machine by trolley wheel assemblies. A plurality of travel limit decelerators mounted on the rails engage and rapidly decelerates the movable platform as it reaches its limits of travel on the rails.

Apparatus and associated methods relate to a body positioning and support system having shoulder support surfaces (SSSs) and a lumbar support surface (LSS) offset downwards from a torso support surface (TSS). In an illustrative example, the TSS extends in a first plane along a longitudinal axis. An SSS may, for example, extend from each side of the TSS in opposite directions along a transverse axis orthogonal to the longitudinal axis in the first plane. The LSS may, for example, be distal to the TSS. The SSSs may, for example, each be defined by a first offset from the first plane towards a base plane. The LSS may, for example, be displaced from the first plane towards the base plane by at least a second offset. A neck support surface may extend from a proximal end of the TSS. Various embodiments may advantageously automatically position and support (targeted) body anatomy.

EXERCISE DEVICE AND PATIENT SUPPORT APPARATUS

An exercise device includes one or more connectors adapted to be releasably coupled to a patient support apparatus; a patient-contacting portion adapted to contact a portion of the patient's body and to be resistively moved between a first position and a second position; a first location transceiver; and a sensor adapted to automatically detect movement of the patient-contacting portion between the first and second positions. The exercise device may also include a wireless transceiver adapted to transmit movement data derived from the sensor to a recipient device. In some embodiments, the exercise device is part of a system that includes a patient support apparatus and a second location transceiver positioned thereon. The location transceivers allow a controller to determine if the exercise device is currently coupled to the patient support apparatus or not, and/or to automatically pair the exercise device to the patient support apparatus for wireless communication.
