The present invention also relates to a method for providing a control panel with a protective barrier (13), which comprises the steps of obtaining a three-dimensional profile of an outer surface of a control panel, creating a mould from the three-dimensional profile, providing an elastomer and shaping the elastomer in the mould, curing the elastomer to form the protective barrier and fitting the protective barrier to the control panel. The present invention also relates to a mobile elevating work platform (MEWP) comprising a control panel (6) and a rigid shell (26) for protecting the control panel.

In the safety belt buckle according to the present invention, a switch that detects whether a tongue of a safety belt is fastened is blocked from coming into direct contact with water or foreign materials, which are introduced from the outside, so as to stably detect fastening or unfastening of the tongue of the safety belt, and thus the safety belt buckle can be stably operated even when mounted in a seat exposed to the outside such as a seat of a forklift or a tractor.

A water and flame barrier button assembly is incorporated into an electrical enclosure such as a GFCI housing to provide water and flame resistant set and reset buttons. The buttons are contained within flexible sealing frames that allow one end of the buttons to extend through the top portion of the GFCI housing while the opposite end of the button is exposed within the base portion of the sealing frame. The base portion of the sealing frame attaches to the interior of the housing with the exposed button end positioned inward of the sealing frame base. The base of the sealing frame contacts the GFCI circuit board while providing a rebound force to return either the set or reset button exposed end from a position depressed and in contact with the circuit board to a position not in contact with the circuit board and returning inward of the sealing frame base.

The elastomeric overlay can be configured to positively locate the joystick core relative to the switch panel and provide a water-tight seal. The thickness, width and hardness of the flex-wall can be tuned to provide adequate locating strength and resistance to wear.
