“SAVUS” a simple, low cost emergency home power connection
The embodiments of a “SAVUS” disclosed herein are simple, safe, low cost devices used to connect emergency power to an entire home. The embodiments of SAVUS are configured to install into most residential types of circuit breaker front panels and require only one available circuit breaker space for installation. SAVUS mechanically interlocks with the main circuit breaker and will not allow connection of an external power source to the circuit breaker box until utility power is turned off for safety.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ACTIVATING SWITCHES
Apparatuses and methods for activating a switch are provided. The switch is supported by one of a bracket and a panel and includes a switch body and a switch plunger that is moveably coupled to the switch body to activate and deactivate the switch. In one example, the apparatus includes a clamp body that is configured to be removably coupled to the one of the bracket and the panel and that has an opening formed therethrough. The apparatus further includes a rod portion having a first end portion that has a surface that includes a first concave surface. The rod portion is configured to be advanced through the opening. The surface interfaces with the switch plunger and moves the switch plunger to activate the switch when the clamp body is coupled to the one of the bracket and the panel and when the rod portion is advanced through the opening.
Central locking dual illumination switch
A rocker switch assembly includes a housing having at least one bracket with a bracket stop formed therein, and a rocker actuator pivotably mounted on the housing. At least one wedge lock is pivotably mounted on the rocker actuator, the wedge lock pivotable between a locked position in which the wedge lock engages the bracket stop formed in the bracket, thereby preventing pivoting of the rocker actuator with respect to the housing in at least one direction, and a retracted position in which the wedge lock is disengaged from the bracket stop formed in the bracket so as to allow for pivoting of the rocker actuator with respect to the housing. A lock release button is also provided, actuation of which from a resting position to a release position causes the wedge lock to move to the retracted position.
Switching apparatus and associated switch
Implementations of the subject matter described herein provide an apparatus for use in a switch. The apparatus includes: a handle including a first slot; a mode button operable to change an operation mode of the switch, the mode button including a second slot; a slider coupled to the mode button and movable in a first direction in association with a movement of the mode button, the slider including a first block; a lever operable to be opened in a rotatable manner and including a pin, wherein when the mode button is set at a service position, the first block is received in the first slot to maintain the handle; and in response to the lever being opened in the rotatable manner, the pin is operable to pass through the second slot to prevent the movement of the mode button. Such apparatus herein provides a lock mechanism that may prevent mistake operation between different operation modes.
Devices for limiting switch positions for electrical devices
A device for limiting movement of an operator of at least one switch of a light fixture can include a body. The device can also include at least one fixture coupling feature disposed on the body, where the at least one fixture coupling feature is configured to couple to at least one device coupling feature of the light fixture. The body, when coupled to the light fixture, can be configured to limit the movement of a first operator of a first switch of the at least one switch.
SOLID STATE CIRCUIT INTERRUPTER WITH INTERLOCK
A solid state circuit interrupter provides structures which can manually move an isolation switch of a pole from the ON state to the OFF state without the use of auxiliary power but that advantageously additionally provides an interlock apparatus that avoids manually moving the isolation switch from the ON state to the OFF state until certain conditions exist. One such condition is to ensure that some action is taken, such as by switching a physical interlock between one state and another state. Such a change in state of the physical interlock might additionally result in a change in state of an electronic interlock that would resist the solid state switch being moved to its ON state while the isolation switch is capable of being manually switched to its OFF state. The physical interlock might additionally resist the isolation switch from being manually switched into its ON state.

Switch lockout device
A lockout device for a switch assembly includes a body defining a bottom surface and a recess extending inward from the bottom surface to receive a toggle switch, first and second clamping portions disposed on first and second longitudinal sides of the recess, and an adjustable cleat member secured with the body and movable between a retracted position in which the cleat member is retained inward of the bottom surface of the body and an extended position in which the cleat member extends beyond the bottom surface of the body.
LOCKOUT TAGOUT ASSEMBLY AND SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USING SAME
Lockout tagout assemblies, systems, and methods are disclosed. Exemplary lockout tagout assemblies include a base, an arm moveable with respect to the base, and a member extending at an angle from the arm. The member can engage with a circuit breaker in an off position to retain the circuit breaker in the off position.
LOCKING DEVICE FOR A TOGGLE LIGHT SWITCH
A method of applying a switch locking device to a wall switch to prevent actuation of the wall switch. The wall switch has an actuator member extending through a toggle frame in a switch plate. With the switch in the desired on or off position, the snap-on locking device will be placed in the gap between the actuator member and the toggle frame. Operation of the switch is prevented by the arm of body that goes between the actuator member and the toggle frame surface.
