Electric switch limiter pole and DC electric switch comprising such a limiter pole
This limiter pole (B) for a multipole DC electrical switch (2) comprises a compartment in which an input terminal and an output terminal for a direct electric current are provided, along with a first electrical contact connected to the input terminal and a second electrical contact connected to the output terminal, third and fourth electrical contacts connected to one another in series, the third and fourth contacts being capable of being moved simultaneously relative to the first and second electrical contacts, respectively, between a closed position, in which the first and third contacts and the second and fourth contacts make contact with one another so as to allow the direct electric current to flow between the input terminal and the output terminal, and an open position, in which said contacts are located away from one another, interrupting the flow of the current between the input terminal and the output terminal. The limiter pole (B) comprises a first electric arc formation chamber in which the first and third electrical contacts are placed, a second electric arc formation chamber in which the second and fourth electrical contacts are placed, and first and second electric arc extinguishing chambers which are associated with the first and second electric arc formation chambers, respectively.
Electrical switch
The electrical switch includes a first and a second fixed contact, and a rotatable knife contact including at least one pair of blades being flexibly connected to each other and rotating around a rotational axis. A third fixed contact is positioned on an opposite side of the rotational axis in relation to the adjacent first and second fixed contact and a middle portion of the rotatable knife contact is electrically connected to the third fixed contact. The rotatable knife contact connects in a first switching position the first fixed contact and in a second switching position the second fixed contact to the third fixed contact.
SWITCHING DEVICE WITH AT LEAST TWO INTERCOMMUNICATING EXTINGUISHING AREAS
Switching device with closable contacts and an extinguishing chamber which is associated with the contacts and has a first extinguishing area and a second extinguishing area arranged directly adjacent to the first extinguishing area, the first extinguishing area and the second extinguishing area being spatially separated from each other by a partition wall, and the switching device being configured in such a way that a switching arc which is generated when opening the contacts is always blown away from the point where it is generated in one of the two extinguishing areas by means of an arc blowing means of the switching device and is caused to be extinguished, whereas the respective other of the two extinguishing areas is not used for extinguishing, characterized in that the partition wall between the first extinguishing area and the second extinguishing area has at least one overflow opening which connects the first extinguishing area to the second extinguishing area in such a way that plasma which is generated by the switching arc can flow from the extinguishing area in which the switching arc is caused to be extinguished into the respective other, unused extinguishing area.
Contactor device for high current switching applications
An improved contactor device for high current switching applications, in particular industrial or railways applications, is provided, wherein a high DC current must be switched on and off, the contactor device includes a switch base portion including an electric switching mechanism of a high voltage portion and an arc extinguishing portion covering the switching mechanism. The contactor device includes a couple of moving contacts driven towards and away from each other with respect to a mutual contact and abutting position, those moving contacts being mounted at the respective contact ends of a toggle mechanism activated by a low voltage driving portion incorporated in the switch base portion and active on the toggle mechanism.
