System and method for tracking a projectile

An apparatus comprising a practice device for practice of hitting a tennis ball includes a server configured for serving the tennis ball to a user, a net disposed to intercept a flight of the tennis ball after the tennis bell has been hit by the user using a racket and to direct the captured tennis ball back towards the server to be served again to the user, an image detector configured to observe the tennis ball as the tennis ball hurtles towards the net, and a processor. The processor determines, based at least in part on image frames received from the image detector, data indicative of the tennis ball's virtual landing spot. This virtual landing spot is an estimate of where the tennis ball would have landed on an opposing court had the tennis ball not been intercepted by the net.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING A SPIN AXIS OF A SPORTS BALL
20220387851 · 2022-12-08 ·

A system determining a spin axis of a ball includes a radar transmitting a signal into a target area. The radar includes a minimum of three receivers arranged so that two pairs of receivers are not co-linear. The system also includes a Processing Unit (“PU”) receiving data from the radar and determining a radar range of frequencies received at a point in time corresponding to differing velocities relative to the radar of different portions of the ball as the ball is spinning. PU divides the radar frequency range into a plurality of frequency components and calculating, for each of the frequency components, an angular position associated therewith. PU identifies as a projection of the spin axis in a plane perpendicular to a line of sight from the radar to the ball, a line perpendicular to a line represented by the determined angular positions.

Electronic tracking systems are disclosed for assisting users with locating objects in a sporting environment. One such system includes a ball tracking component that tracks a game ball while moving in the sporting environment, and a heads up display that is worn by the user. This heads up display has an electronic display screen with a transparent display area that dynamically displays images within the user's field of view. A processor, which communicates with the ball tracking component and heads up display, is programmed to detect movement of the game ball, and responsively determine launch characteristics and/or flight characteristics of the moving game ball. The heads up display displays the launch/flight characteristics contemporaneous with an object indication adjacent to or superimposed over the moving game ball as the game ball is visible through the transparent display area of the display screen within the user's field of view.

Wrist exerciser and rotation mechanism thereof

A rotation mechanism of a wrist exerciser is provided. The rotation mechanism includes a sleeve ring, a spinning mass, and a driving assembly. The sleeve ring is rotatable along an annular groove. The sleeve ring includes an annular body and a mount component. The annular body has a first mount portion and a first insertion hole respectively located at two opposite sides of the annular body. The mount component has a second mount portion and a second insertion hole. The second mount portion of the mount component is engaged with the first mount portion. Two shaft portions of the spinning mass are respectively and rotatably located in the first insertion hole and the second insertion hole, allowing the spinning mass to be rotatable. The driving assembly includes a stator fixed to the mount component and a rotor mounted on the spinning mass.

FEATURE ESTIMATION OF A CRICKET GAME

A cricket sensor may include one or more first image-capturing sensors configured to capture image data of a pitching motion of a bowler and image data of an initial motion of a cricket ball at a bowling end of a cricket field. The cricket sensor may include one or more second image-capturing sensors configured to capture image data of a trajectory and a flight path of the cricket ball towards a batting end of the cricket field. The cricket sensor may also include one or more first radar sensors configured to capture radar data describing one or more initial launch parameters of the cricket ball related to the trajectory and the flight path of the cricket ball towards the batting end of the cricket field.
