Data Collection during a Game
A system for data collection during a game includes a positioning system for determining various locations of a user during the game, a tag reader for reading a passive RFID tag held in close proximity to the tag reader, and a processor for correlating the location of the user with the time at which a tag is read to enable action locations for the game to be determined.
CONTROL SYSTEM FOR A REHABILITATION AND EXERCISE ELECTROMECHANICAL DEVICE
An electromechanical device for rehabilitation includes pedals coupled to radially-adjustable couplings, an electric motor coupled to the pedals via the radially-adjustable couplings, and a control system including a processing device operatively coupled to the electric motor. The processing device configured to, responsive to a first trigger condition occurring, control the electric motor to operate in a passive mode by independently driving the radially-adjustable couplings rotationally coupled to the pedals. The processing device also configured to, responsive to a second trigger condition occurring, control the electric motor to operate in an active-assisted mode by measuring revolutions per minute of the radially-adjustable couplings, and cause the electric motor to drive the radially-adjustable couplings when the measured revolutions per minute satisfy a threshold condition, and responsive to a third trigger condition occurring, control the electric motor to operate in a resistive mode by providing resistance to rotation of the radially-adjustable couplings.
ELECTRONIC GOLFING ALIGNMENT AID AND CORRESPONDING METHOD
A system for correcting alignment of a golf club is provided. The golf club includes a shaft, a golf club head mounted on a first end of the shaft, a camera embedded in the golf club head. A display module is adapted to display at least a partial view of the camera. Substantial alignment of a face of the golf club head with a target location will be observable in the display as substantial alignment between the target location with an alignment guide. Misalignment of a face of the golf club head with the target location will be observable in the display as a misalignment between the target location with the alignment guide, for which a position of the golf club can be adjusted to bring the face of the golf club head into substantial alignment with the target location.
USING WEARABLE DEVICE DATA TO ENABLE CONTROL OF AN APPLICATION
Techniques for rewarding users based primarily on performance scores as obtained during play of an application and based secondarily on health metric data (“HMD”) obtained from performing exercise are disclosed. A baseline or minimum exercise requirement is established, where this requirement is generally achievable regardless of one's initial health status. Satisfaction of that baseline exercise requirement then unlocks a user's ability to engage with an application, which generally challenges the user's non-physical abilities. The user's performance in that application is then the deciding factor as to who wins a reward program. Because the exercise aspect is designed to be generally achievable for most if not all users, those users are now equally encouraged or incentivized to participate in the exercise reward program because the determination of who will win is now separated from a user's health status.
Oral insert and uses thereof for calculating forces to the head
The present disclosure generally provides oral inserts useful for determining forces experienced by a user, such as a human user, to the head, for example, by measuring one or more of acceleration, velocity, displacement, or rotation. In some aspects, the disclosure provides oral inserts that, when worn properly by a human user, calculate the forces experienced by the user's head with high accuracy. In some aspects, the disclosure provides systems for detecting and calculating forces experienced by the user's head and to determine whether such forces are above a certain threshold indicative of increased concussion risk. In some aspects, the disclosure provides methods for calculating forces experienced by the user's head and determining whether such forces are above a certain threshold indicative of concussion.
Synthetic turf with integrated impact sensors
Presented is an apparatus and system for an artificial turf system. The artificial turf system includes a backing layer having a plurality of fibers extending therefrom. The artificial turf system further includes a plurality of impact sensors located at least partially on, in, and/or beneath the backing layer, wherein the plurality of impact sensors are operable to detect a force or pressure applied to the backing layer.
TRAINING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, TRAINING MANAGEMENT METHOD, TRAINING MANAGEMENT PROGRAM, AND TRAINING MANAGEMENT DEVICE
A system that can avoid training overemphasized by a taste of a user and prevent an injury or a trouble from being caused by an unnatural body motion by comparing, between the user and other users, evaluation values of parameters based on exercise data and analyzing training. A training management system includes data detecting means for detecting exercise data related to exercise of a user, parameter calculating means for calculating, on the basis of the detected exercise data, exercise information representing information concerning the exercise carried out by the user, evaluation-value calculating means for calculating an evaluation value of the user on the basis of the exercise information, comparison-target acquiring means for acquiring evaluation values of other users, and comparing means for comparing the evaluation value of the user and the evaluation values of the other users.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR POWER EXPENDITURE AND TECHNIQUE DETERMINATION DURING BIPEDAL MOTION
Training at the proper level of effort is important for athletes whose objective is to achieve the best results in the least time. In running, for example, pace is often monitored. However, pace alone does not reveal specific issues with regard to running form, efficiency, or technique, much less inform how training should be modified to improve performance or fitness. A sensing system and wearable sensor platform described herein provide real-time feedback to a user/wearer of his power expenditure during an activity. In one example, the system includes an inertial measurement unit (IMU) for acquiring multi-axis motion data at a first sampling rate, and an orientation sensor to acquire orientation data at a second sampling rate that is varied based on the multi-axis motion data.
CALORIE ESTIMATION APPARATUS AND METHOD, AND WEARABLE DEVICE
A calorie estimation apparatus and method that analyze a user's skin spectrum to determine calories of food and drink that the user has ingested are provided. The calorie estimation apparatus includes a spectrum measurer configured to measure a skin spectrum of a user; and a processor configured to determine a noise of the measured skin spectrum, and estimate calories consumed by the user based on the determined noise.
Autonomous systems and methods for still and moving picture production
Systems and methods facilitate autonomous image capture and/or picture production. A location unit is attached to each tracked object. An object tracking device receives location information from each location unit. A camera control device controls, based upon the location information, at least one motorized camera to capture image data of at least one tracked object.
