Gas-insulated load break switch and switchgear comprising a gas-insulated load break switch

A load-break switch has a housing holding insulation gas at ambient pressure; a first main contact and a second main contact being movable relative to each other in an axial direction of the switch; a first arcing contact and a second arcing contact being movable relative to each other in the axial direction and defining an arcing region where an arc is formed during a current breaking operation, wherein the arcing region is located radially inward from the first main contact; a pressurizing system pressurizing a quenching gas during the current breaking operation; and a nozzle system arranged to blow the pressurized quenching gas onto the arc. The first main contact includes at least one pressure release opening to allow gas flow in a radial outward direction. A total area of the pressure release opening suppresses a reduction of gas flow out of the pressure release opening.

Gas-insulated low- or medium-voltage load break switch

A gas-insulated low- or medium-voltage load break switch includes: a housing defining a housing volume for holding an insulation gas at an ambient pressure; a first arcing contact and a second arcing contact arranged within the housing volume, the first and second arcing contacts being movable in relation to each other along an axis of the load break switch and defining a quenching region in which an arc is formed during a current breaking operation; a pressurizing system having a pressurizing chamber arranged within the housing volume for pressurizing a quenching gas from an ambient pressure p.sub.0 to a quenching pressure p.sub.quench during the current breaking operation; and a nozzle system arranged within the housing volume for blowing the pressurized quenching gas in a subsonic flow pattern from the pressurization chamber onto the arc formed in the quenching region during the current breaking operation. The nozzle system includes at least one nozzle arranged for blowing the quenching gas from an off-axis position predominantly radially inwardly onto the quenching region.

Gas-insulated low- or medium-voltage load break switch

A gas-insulated low- or medium-voltage load break switch includes: a housing defining a housing volume for holding an insulation gas at an ambient pressure; a first arcing contact and a second arcing contact arranged within the housing volume, the first and second arcing contacts being movable in relation to each other along an axis of the load break switch and defining a quenching region in which an arc is formed during a current breaking operation; a pressurizing system having a pressurizing chamber arranged within the housing volume for pressurizing a quenching gas from an ambient pressure p.sub.0 to a quenching pressure p.sub.quench during the current breaking operation; and a nozzle system arranged within the housing volume for blowing the pressurized quenching gas in a subsonic flow pattern from the pressurization chamber onto the arc formed in the quenching region during the current breaking operation. The nozzle system includes at least one nozzle arranged for blowing the quenching gas from an off-axis position predominantly radially inwardly onto the quenching region.

Service device and method for using a multi-component insulating gas during maintenance of electrical switchgear systems

A service device for a multi-component insulating gas for use during maintenance of electrical switchgear systems comprising a compressor with a downstream condenser, a storage container, the service device is connected to a system space, and the compressor compresses the insulating gas during removal from the system space, all components of the insulating gas remain in the compressor in a gaseous state, the condenser is controlled by a controller so a condensation of the insulating gas occurs first in the storage container, a storage heating device is provided for the storage container, during filling of the system space the storage heating device heats the insulating gas to a temperature above the critical temperature of the insulating gas, wherein, a line heating device is provided which at least partially heats the pipeline between the storage container and the system space and/or heats elements in the pipeline.

Electromechanical Actuator And High Voltage (HV) Switch

An electromechanical actuator includes an electrically insulating rod, an electrically insulating cover at least partly encompassing the electrically insulating rod, and an elastomeric diaphragm. The electrically insulating rod has a body, a first actuation portion connected to an electromechanical drive mechanism arranged in a first region, and a second actuation portion for actuating an electromechanical actuation mechanism arranged in a second region. The elastomeric diaphragm unit is arranged between the body and the cover. The elastomeric diaphragm unit has a flexible membrane electrically separating the first region from the second region. The elastomeric diaphragm unit is coated on at least one surface of the membrane with a semiconductive layer.

GAS-INSULATED SWITCHING DEVICE

A gas-insulated switching device including, inside a pressure tank: a vacuum valve having a movable contact provided on one side of a movable conductor, and a fixed contact provided to a fixed conductor; an insulation rod connected to another side of the movable conductor led out through a bellows from the vacuum valve; and an airtight container in which the insulation rod and the other side of the movable conductor are stored, wherein an internal space of the bellows and an internal space of the airtight container communicate with each other, one side of the vacuum valve is fixed to a tank wall via an insulation support body, another side of the vacuum valve is connected to the tank wall via the airtight container, and the airtight container insulates the vacuum valve and the tank wall from each other, and is slidable in a movable direction of the movable conductor.

CIRCUIT INTERRUPTER

A circuit interrupter includes a fixed terminal, a movable contactor, a moving mechanism, a squib, and accommodation. The fixed terminal includes a fixed contact. The movable contactor includes a movable contact connected to the fixed contact. The moving mechanism is configured to move the movable contactor from a closed position where the movable contact is connected to the fixed contact to an open position where the movable contact is separated from the fixed contact. The squib is configured to generate gas by combustion. The accommodation is for accommodating the fixed contact and the movable contactor. In the circuit interrupter, the gas is introduced into the accommodation.

CIRCUIT INTERRUPTER

A circuit interrupter includes a fixed terminal, a movable contactor, a moving mechanism, a squib, and accommodation. The fixed terminal includes a fixed contact. The movable contactor includes a movable contact connected to the fixed contact. The moving mechanism is configured to move the movable contactor from a closed position where the movable contact is connected to the fixed contact to an open position where the movable contact is separated from the fixed contact. The squib is configured to generate gas by combustion. The accommodation is for accommodating the fixed contact and the movable contactor. In the circuit interrupter, the gas is introduced into the accommodation.

Gas circuit breaker

A gas circuit breaker includes a gas suppresser composed of a protruded portion which is formed on a horizontal surface facing an exhaust cylinder of a shaft guide and which forms a gap between itself and the exhaust cylinder and an enlarged portion which is adjacent to the protruded portion and where a gap to the exhaust cylinder is enlarged so that the shaft guide, which operates along an inner circumferential surface of the exhaust cylinder, which is provided to an inner circumferential portion of a movable side main conductor and is provided to outer circumferences of an exhaust shaft and an operation rod, and couples the operation rod with the exhaust shaft, is axially adjacent to a sliding member that slides along the exhaust cylinder with no space to the exhaust cylinder and suppresses discharge of heated and pressurized insulating gas.

A gas circuit breaker includes a gas suppresser composed of a protruded portion which is formed on a horizontal surface facing an exhaust cylinder of a shaft guide and which forms a gap between itself and the exhaust cylinder and an enlarged portion which is adjacent to the protruded portion and where a gap to the exhaust cylinder is enlarged so that the shaft guide, which operates along an inner circumferential surface of the exhaust cylinder, which is provided to an inner circumferential portion of a movable side main conductor and is provided to outer circumferences of an exhaust shaft and an operation rod, and couples the operation rod with the exhaust shaft, is axially adjacent to a sliding member that slides along the exhaust cylinder with no space to the exhaust cylinder and suppresses discharge of heated and pressurized insulating gas.
