An exercise treadmill is disclosed. The treadmill can include one or more sensors to acquire input data. A computer system can trigger one or more actions based on the input data. The input data can correspond to a lengthwise position of the user along a length of a usable surface of the platform and/or a lateral position of the user on the belt. The action(s) can include providing feedback to the user and/or adjusting rotation of the belt and/or a resistance of rotation of the belt. The adjustment can be performed in response to input from a user control requesting the adjustment.

Exercise Apparatus Simulating Mild to High Altitude Environments

A personal physical conditioning system, for a single, full-size human subject, has a sealable chamber that is configured to allow entry therein and occupancy thereof by the entirety of the single, full-size human subject and to allow the subject to exercise in a standing position using an item of physical conditioning equipment entirely contained within the sealable chamber. The system also has a ventilation system, including a pump, operable to change air in the sealable chamber and to establish, within the sealable chamber, a desired non-zero air pressure level of less than 1 atmosphere and down to pressure conditions substantially equivalent to an elevation of 25,000 feet above sea level. Related methods are also provided.

Exercise apparatus simulating mild to high altitude environments

A personal exercise apparatus that allows simultaneous simulation of mild to high altitude environments with algorithmically driven environmental stressors that may be pre-programmed or personally developed via physiological feedback during training. Additional stressors include an ability to transiently alter pressure in a chamber of the personal exercise apparatus at variable frequencies and amplitudes with a range of changes with an option of random pressure oscillations designed to personalize training programs. The additional stressors further include small variations in inspired CO2 levels and temperature allowing individuals to simulate breathing and temperature conditions in preparation for desired environmental conditions.

OPTIMAL EXERCISE INTENSITY ESTIMATION METHOD, TRAINING METHOD, EXERCISE INSTRUCTION DEVICE, AND OPTIMAL EXERCISE INTENSITY ESTIMATION SYSTEM

A method for estimating optimal exercise intensity includes: a step to give a ramped load to a subject so as to obtain a value of blood oxygen concentration (SpO.sub.2) at each predetermined different workload, which is measured over a range that overlaps at least a part of 96 to 100%; and a step to determine a starting point of decline at which the measured value of blood oxygen concentration starts to show a declining trend as the workload increases; wherein the workload at the starting point of decline is estimated as an optimal exercise intensity for the subject. The method is capable of indicating a workload for attaining an individual's optimal exercise intensity.

Sports mask system

The present invention provides a sports mask for breathing training. The sports mask includes a head assemble containing clips to hold the mask against the head. The sports mask further includes a face band assembly that includes straps that are received by the clips present on the head assembly to hold the face assembly against the face of a user. The face assembly includes a face mask unit comprising an airflow valve. The airflow valve includes an airflow resistance varying module that helps in varying flow of air into the airflow valve. The control of airflow resistance varying module can be either manual or automatic when the mask is connected to a wearable device or a vital parameter collection device.
