With an electromagnetic contactor (1), a main contact mechanism housing chamber (A) and an auxiliary contact mechanism housing chamber (B) are partitioned by a partition wall (10). The partition wall (10) has a through-hole (10a) through which a coupling shaft (34) is inserted. A foreign matter invasion prevention mechanism (60) is provided at a peripheral area of the through-hole (10a).

A manual disconnect switching device includes an external housing having a handle actuator. The manual disconnect switching device further includes a bellows actuator in communication with the handle actuator and hermetically sealed within an internal volume of the external housing. The bellows actuator includes a shaft and a biased bellows for switching the manual disconnect switching device between open and closed positions.

A press-fit fixing portion fixes a drive unit and a relay unit by press-fitting a claw portion and the recess portion. A sealing member is provided on an outside of the relay unit and the drive unit. An inner cover forms a sealed space for sealing an arc-extinguishing gas together with the sealing member. An electromagnetic relay is configured to make it possible both an adjustment of a press-fitting amount of the claw portion and the recess portion and an adjustment of the gap between a ceramic insulator at an end of a shaft and a movable element by making each of the relay unit and the drive unit in a manufacturing process to the same state as in when a magnetizing coil is energized.

An electromagnetic relay includes a mobile component movable at time of energization and de-energization of a coil, and a fixed component immovable at the time of energization and de-energization of the coil. A damping space is provided between the mobile component and the fixed component and changes in volume with the movement of the mobile component. A gap provided between the mobile component and the fixed component serves as a passage that allows gas to flow into or out of the damping space when the damping space changes in volume. A size of the gap is set such that a pressure is generated in the damping space to cause a damping force acting on the mobile component when the damping space changes in volume.

A latching relay includes a first coil, a second coil and a common plunger operatively connected between the first and second coils such that activation of the first coil moves the plunger to a first position and activation of the second coil moves the plunger to a second position. The latching relay also includes a limit switch having a common contact and first and second coil contacts. A position of the common contact is alternately switched between electrical connection to either the first or second coil contact based on a position of the plunger. The first and second coil contacts are electrically connected to the first and second coils, respectively such that when electrical power is applied to the common contact, the electrical power is alternately applied to either the first coil or the second coil depending on the position of the common contact.

A contact device includes a main contact mechanism including a pair of main fixed contacts and a main movable contact elastically supported by a movable shaft and disposed to contact with and separate from the pair of main fixed contacts; an auxiliary contact mechanism disposed at a different position from the main contact mechanism, and including a pair of auxiliary fixed contacts and an auxiliary movable contact disposed in an insulating auxiliary contact holding member connected to the movable shaft to contact with and separate from the pair of auxiliary fixed contacts; and a contact housing portion housing the main contact mechanism and the auxiliary contact mechanism. The movable shaft includes a main contact support portion for supporting the main movable contact, and an auxiliary contact support portion for supporting the auxiliary contact holding member. The main contact support portion is divided from the auxiliary contact support portion.

The contact apparatus includes a fixed contact, a movable contact, and an arc extinguishing member. The movable contact is movable between a closed position where the movable contact is in contact with the fixed contact and an open position where the movable contact is separate from the fixed contact. The arc extinguishing member is for discharging an arc extinguishing gas offering a capacity for extinguishment of an arc, into a space containing the fixed contact and the movable contact.

The contact device includes a main contact mechanism that includes a pair of main fixed contacts and a main movable contact elastically supported by a movable shaft and disposed to be contactable with and separable from the pair of main fixed contacts, an auxiliary contact mechanism that includes a pair of auxiliary fixed contacts and auxiliary movable contacts disposed in an auxiliary contact holding member connected to the movable shaft so as to be contactable with and separable from the pair of auxiliary fixed contacts, and a contact housing portion that houses the main contact mechanism and the auxiliary contact mechanism. The movable shaft has a main contact support portion supporting the main movable contact and an auxiliary contact support portion supporting the auxiliary contact holding member. The main contact support portion and the auxiliary contact support portion are connected to each other via the auxiliary contact holding member.
