An electrical switching apparatus includes a body and a display apparatus. The body has a housing, a handle partially extending through the housing, separable contacts located within the housing, an operating mechanism structured to open and close the separable contacts, a main printed circuit board located within the housing, and a number of electrical rating settings associated with the main printed circuit board. Each of the number of electrical rating settings has a magnitude. The display apparatus is electrically connected to the main printed circuit board and is structured to display the magnitude of at least one of the number of electrical rating settings.

The present disclosure relates to an electrical protection system , including a breaker enclosure and associated terminals, and the methods of use therefor that allow for a circuit breaker or other electrical protection device to be safely added or removed from a circuit while power is supplied to at least one of the terminals. The disclosed enclosure and terminals include a series of interrelated safety features that prevent a user from accidentally completing the circuit from one terminal to another when the electrical protection system would be in an unsafe state. The combination of features described herein allow for a replaceable electrical protection device for equipment under load to be realized, thus improving user safety.

An electrical switching apparatus includes a body and a display apparatus. An interface assembly is for an electrical switching apparatus. The electrical switching apparatus includes a housing, a first handle partially extending through the housing, separable contacts located within the housing, an operating mechanism to open and close the separable contacts, a main printed circuit board located within the housing, and a number of electrical rating settings associated with the main printed circuit board. Each of the electrical rating settings has a magnitude. The interface assembly includes: a base assembly comprising a base, the base being disposed on the housing, the base having a mounting surface; and a second handle coupled to the mounting surface, the second handle and the first handle being structured to drive each other. The mounting surface has at least one port. The magnitude of a corresponding one of the electrical rating settings is visible through the at least one port.

An interlock assembly for a circuit breaker prevents inadvertent installation or removal of the circuit breaker from a circuit breaker panel while current is flowing. The interlock assembly cooperates with the circuit breaker panel to physically prevent the circuit breaker from being inserted into the circuit breaker panel until the circuit breaker is put into a tripped state. Likewise, the interlock assembly cooperates with the circuit breaker panel to physically prevent the circuit breaker from being taken out of the circuit breaker panel until the circuit breaker is put into a tripped state. This ensures that the circuit breaker will not be inadvertently installed or removed from the circuit breaker panel while current can immediately flow or is flowing through the circuit breaker.

This electrical protection device (300) is configured to be reversibly mounted on a distribution device (110) comprising a power bus (124). The device for protecting the incoming terminals (302), connectable to the power bus, and a switching mechanism (310) with a movable contact (370) and a tripping device (372). The protection device comprises a safety mechanism (500), which comprises a support portion (502), which is movable and which is configured to be pushed back, against a return member (504), into a retracted position when the protection device is mounted on the distribution device. When the protection device is dismantled, the support portion moves and the safety device activates the tripping device (372), causing the switching mechanism to switch to an isolation configuration before each incoming terminal is disconnected from the power bus.
