LATCH-FREE ACTUATORS
20170271109 · 2017-09-21 · ·

A latch-free actuator includes, for example, a movable arm, a first biasing means operable to apply a force to move the movable arm in a first direction, and a yieldable support having a rigid configuration defining a generally straight axis and a flexible configuration defining a non-straight axis. The yieldable support is operable in the rigid configuration to support a compression force along the straight axis due to and countering the first biasing means so that the movable arm is prevented from movement in the first direction, and the yieldable support is operable, by applying a tripping force, to the yieldable support to transition the rigid configuration to the flexible configuration to withdraw support of the compression force and allow the movable arm to be moved by the first biasing means in the first direction.

LATCH-FREE CIRCUIT BREAKERS

A circuit breaker includes, for example, a housing, a stationary electrical contact attached to the housing, a movable arm operably movably attachable to the housing and a second end having an electrical contact releaseably contactable with the stationary electrical contact, and an actuator mechanism. The actuator mechanism includes a first biasing means for opening the electrical contacts, a second biasing means for closing the electrical contacts, and a yieldable support. The yieldable support is operable in a rigid configuration to support a compression force to prevent opening of the electrical contacts while the second biasing means is operable to apply the force to close the electrical contacts. The yieldable support is operable, by applying a tripping force, to transition the rigid configuration to the flexible configuration to withdraw support of the compression force and allow opening of the electrical contacts.

Circuit breakers with handle bearing pins

Circuit breakers with handles having at least one handle bearing pin that contacts an upper end portion of a moving arm and allows the arm to rotate to “OFF”, “ON” and “TRIP” positions, typically about 90 degrees of rotation.

POWER MECHANISM, SWITCH, POWER CONVERSION APPARATUS, AND POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM

A power mechanism, a switch, a power conversion apparatus, and a power supply system. The switch includes a contact component, a knob, and a power mechanism connected between the contact component and the knob. The power mechanism includes a fastening bracket, a knob connector, a contact connector, a transmission component, a trip unit, and a cradle. Both the knob connector and the contact connector are rotatively connected to the fastening bracket, and rotation centers of the knob connector and the contact connector are collinear. The transmission component is configured to implement power transmission between the knob connector and the contact connector. The trip unit is configured to receive a switch-off signal, to implement tripping of the trip unit and the cradle. The transmission component is driven to move by using the cradle, to separate the movable contact from the static contact, so that the switch is switched off.

Described herein is a low voltage switching device including: one or more electric poles having one or more movable contacts and corresponding fixed contacts adapted to be coupled to or uncoupled from each other; a movable contact assembly including said movable contacts and a main supporting and operating shaft reversibly movable between a first contact position, at which said movable contacts and said fixed contacts are uncoupled, a second contact position, at which said movable contacts and said fixed contacts are coupled, and a third contact position, at which said movable contacts and said fixed contacts are coupled and kept pressed; an operating assembly including a handle mechanism having a handle adapted to be reversibly moved by a user or a motor operated actuator (MOE) between a first, open position and a second, closed position; and a driving assembly operatively connected to said operating assembly.

Direct driven latch for ultra-fast switch

A latching assembly for latching the moving conductor assembly of a circuit interrupter after an opening stroke includes a streamlined latch that omits components commonly prone to damage during latching operations in existing latching assemblies. The disclosed latching assembly comprises a fixed latch block, a driven latch rotatably coupled to the latch block, and a pivoting hammer with a square pin positioned to always be engaged with the driven latch. The latching assembly is structured to be engaged by a switch shaft once an opening stroke is initiated. When the latching assembly engages, the hammer square pin pushes the driven latch into engagement with a shelf formed in the switch shaft, which prevents the switch shaft from rebounding after the opening stroke. Rebounding is further prevented due to the hammer being structured to be biased toward the open state once the driven latch has engaged the switch shaft shelf.
