Systems and Methods for Pesticide Detection
This disclosure provides quantitative, rapid, and reliable LC-MS/MS methods for analyzing panels of pesticides and mycotoxins in various samples, including very hydrophobic and chlorinated compounds normally analyzed on a GC-MS/MS system. The methods can be carried out using a single instrument and can detect and quantify levels of the pesticides and mycotoxins that are well below action limits specified by U.S. states (e.g., California) and other countries (e.g., Canada) for these compounds in cannabis products.
MULTI-MODE IONIZATION APPARATUS AND USES THEREOF
An ionizing system includes a flange device for connection to a mass spectrometer or ion mobility spectrometer having the property of providing a barrier between the lower pressure region of the spectrometer and a higher pressure region substantially at atmospheric pressure, and a channel therethrough providing fluid communication between the higher and lower pressure regions. A plate device independent of the flange device which can accommodate multiple samples, such as a sample plate device, when placed over the channel in the flange device substantially seals the channel Sliding the sample plate device while in intimate contact with the flange device provides a means to sequentially and rapidly expose said samples to the opening of the channel and thus the lower pressure region. Samples are ionized when exposed to the lower pressure region in as little as one sample per second using multiple ionization methods.
Fabrication of mass spectrometry surface
Disclosed herein are compositions for ionizing a target and methods for making the compositions. In some embodiments, the compositions can include a structured substrate having a plurality of upright surface features, for example, microscale or nanoscale pillars, in contact with an initiator. Also disclosed herein are methods for ionizing targets.
Apparatus for delivering reagent ions to a mass spectrometer
Disclosed herein is an apparatus for supplying reagent ions, for example ETD or PTR reagent ions, to a mass spectrometer. The apparatus includes a reagent material reservoir, coupled to a carrier gas supply, which delivers an entrained reagent vapor flow to an inlet of a mixing junction through a first flow restrictor. A control gas flow of carrier gas is delivered to another inlet of the mixing junction via a variable pressure regulator and a second flow restrictor. The outlet of the mixing junction is coupled via a third flow restrictor and a reagent transfer junction to an inlet of an ionizer, such as a glow-discharge ionizer. By dynamic adjustment of the output pressure of the variable pressure regulator, the flow rate of reagent vapor may be controlled over a broad range, even for reagent materials of relatively high volatility.
Multi-modal ionization for mass spectrometry
Techniques and systems for multi-modal ionization for mass spectrometry are provided. In some embodiments, a method may comprise: receiving an analyte; ionizing some molecules of the analyte using a first ionization method to produce first ions; ionizing other molecules of the analyte using a second ionization method to produce second ions; and providing the first and second ions to a mass analyzer.
MULTIPLE GAS FLOW IONIZER
An ionizer includes a probe having multiple coaxially aligned conduits. The conduits may carry liquids, and nebulizing and heating gases at various flow rates and temperatures, for generation of ions from a liquid source. An outermost conduit defines an entrainment region that transports and entrains ions in a gas for a defined distance along the length of the conduits. In embodiments, various voltages may be applied to the multiple conduits to aid in ionization and to guide ions. Depending on the voltages applied to the multiple conduits and electrodes, the ionizer can act as an electrospray, APCI, or APPI source. Further, the ionizer may include a source of photons or a source of corona ionization. Formed ions may be provided to a downstream mass analyser.
IMR-MS device
The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for IMR-MS and/or PTR-MS, comprising a sample gas inlet (202, 206), a first ion source (209), a reaction chamber (203), a mass analyzer (204), wherein the reaction chamber (203) and the mass analyzer (204) are arranged along a central axis (A), characterized by a second ion source (209), wherein the sample gas inlet (202, 206) is arranged to introduce gas essentially along the central axis (A) and is connected to the reaction chamber (203); wherein the first ion source (209) and the second ion source (209) are arranged so as to emit reagent ions essentially perpendicularly to the central axis (A); said apparatus further comprising at least one electrode (302, 303, 304, 305), such that the reagent ions emitted from the first or second ion source (209) can be deflected into the reaction chamber (203) essentially in the downstream direction of the central axis (A).
DISCHARGE CHAMBERS AND IONIZATION DEVICES, METHODS AND SYSTEMS USING THEM
Certain configurations of plasma discharge chambers and plasma ionization sources comprising a plasma discharge chamber are described. In some examples, the discharge chamber comprises a conductive area and is configured to sustain a plasma discharge within the discharge chamber. In other examples, the discharge chamber comprises at least one inlet configured to receive a plasma gas and at least one outlet configured to provide ionized analyte from the discharge chamber. Systems and methods using the discharge chambers are also described.
Axial atmospheric pressure photo-ionization imaging source and inlet device
An ambient or atmospheric pressure ion source is disclosed that comprises a laser source (1) that generates ions and/or neutral particles from a target (2). A transfer device (10) causes the ions and/or neutral particles to pass along a first path or axis within the transfer device (10), while a secondary activation device (6) directs laser radiation or photons along, across or over at least a portion of the first path or axis to cause secondary activation of the ions and/or neutral particles.
