High brightness laser-sustained plasma broadband source
The broadband light source includes a gas containment structure and a pump laser for generating a pump beam including illumination of a wavelength near that of a weak absorption line of a neutral gas contained in the gas containment structure. The broadband light source also includes anamorphic optics for focusing the pump beam into an elliptical beam waist positioned in or near the center of the gas containment structure. The broadband light source also includes collection optics for collecting broadband radiation emitted by the plasma in a direction aligned with a longer axis of the elliptical beam waist.
Gun-mounted search light
The improvements include an illuminator for a gun comprising a manually manipulated and storable external IR filter with a plurality of radially directed circumferential tabs integrally extending from the frame to allow a manual torque to be applied to the frame to manually screw it into and out of the bezel in the field. A high g-force diaphragm shock mount for the lamp includes a receptacle which positions the longitudinal axis of the lamp on the optical axis of the reflector. The field serviceable lamp assembly is an integrated or modular and sealed unit. A field serviceable electronics module is accessed by removing the rear bezel. The illuminator handle includes a double locked latch lever. A T-Slot to Picatinny adapter allows a SureFire T-rail fitting of the handle to fit a conventional Picatinny rail.
ELECTRODELESS LAMP
An electrodeless lamp driven by a microwave generator is disclosed. The electrodeless lamp includes a first infill composed of mercury-free metal halide and provides a continuous full spectrum radiation including ultraviolet ray, visible light, and infrared ray. Thereby, the electrodeless lamp, which meets the standard of AM 1.5 G, has advantages of environmental friendliness, high efficacy lighting, long service life, and low light decay, and therefore, have become applicable in the field of solar simulators.

MICROWAVE POWERED LAMP WITH OPTIMIZIED COOLING FOR DIFFERENT BULB CHEMISTRIES
A system, method, and computer program product for optimizing the cooling of a UV bulb during a UV irradiation process is described. A power level in which to operate the UV bulb is received. In addition, a particular type of UV bulb being used in the UV irradiation process is received. Thereafter, at least one optimal UV cooling parameter that corresponds to the power level and the type of UV bulb is retrieved from a UV source parameters database. At least one control signal is then sent to a cooling device that is based on the retrieved optimal UV cooling parameter, and the control signal instructs the cooling device to cool the particular type of UV bulb according to the retrieved optimal UV cooling parameter during the UV irradiation process.
EXCIMER LAMP, LAMP UNIT, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING EXCIMER LAMP
An excimer lamp does not cause a significant decrease in the emission intensity of ultraviolet light and transmission capacity, and that takes into consideration the adverse effect on the human body while securing a sufficient intensity of ultraviolet light. The excimer lamp includes a discharge vessel, a discharge gas sealed in the discharge vessel, and an ultraviolet light transmitting thin film provided on at least an inner surface of the discharge vessel, in which the ultraviolet light transmitting thin film includes first particles that are dispersed in the ultraviolet light transmitting thin film and that scatter ultraviolet light, and second particles that fill voids between the first particles, and an average particle diameter of the first particles is larger than an average particle diameter of the second particles.

INACTIVATION APPARATUS
The inactivation apparatus includes: an excimer lamp that includes a luminous tube, and a pair of electrodes, and generates ultraviolet light having a main emission wavelength band within a range of 190 nm or more and less than 240 nm in the luminous tube when a voltage is applied between the pair of electrodes; and an optical filter into which ultraviolet light generated by the excimer lamp is incident, the optical filter transmitting ultraviolet light having a wavelength within a range of 190 nm or more and less than 240 nm and substantially not transmitting ultraviolet light having a wavelength within a range of 240 nm or more and less than 280 nm, in which a sealing pressure ratio of the halogen gas to the noble gas in the luminous gas sealed in the luminous tube is 2% or more and less than 5%.
