A plasma processing apparatus is provided. The plasma processing apparatus includes a processing chamber defining a vertical direction and a lateral direction. The plasma processing apparatus includes a pedestal disposed within the processing chamber. The pedestal is configured to support the substrate. The plasma processing apparatus includes a radio frequency (RF) disposed within the processing chamber. The RF bias electrode defines a RF zone extending between a first end of the RF bias electrode and a second end of the RF bias electrode along the lateral direction. The plasma processing apparatus includes a focus ring disposed within the processing chamber. The plasma processing apparatus further includes a focus ring adjustment assembly. The focus ring adjustment assembly includes a lift pin positioned outside of the RF zone. The lift pin is movable along the vertical direction to adjust a distance between the pedestal and the focus ring along the vertical direction.

METHOD AND/OR SYSTEM FOR COATING A SUBSTRATE
A system and/or method for coating a substrate. The system may include a chuck for holding and rotating the substrate, a dispensing subsystem for dispensing a coating material onto the substrate, and a shield member. The shield member may be movable towards and away from the substrate during the coating procedure. The shield member may have an inverted funnel shape. The shield member may include a central chamber through which a solvent vapor flows and a peripheral chamber that is fluidly separated from the central chamber through which a gas flows. During a coating procedure, the shield member may be moved very close to the substrate and the solvent vapor and gas may flow onto the substrate to create a solvent rich ambient around the substrate and prevent aerosols of the coating material from redepositing onto the substrate after being flung off due to spinning of the substrate.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR FORMING BACKSIDE POWER RAILS
A method that forms a sacrificial fill material that can be selectively removed for forming a backside contact via for a transistor backside power rail. In some embodiments, the method may include performing an etching process on a substrate with an opening that is conformally coated with an oxide layer, wherein the etching process is an anisotropic dry etch process using a chlorine gas to remove the oxide layer from a field of the substrate and only from a bottom portion of the opening, and wherein the etching process forms a partial oxide spacer in the opening and increases a depth of the opening and epitaxially growing the sacrificial fill material in the opening by flowing a hydrogen chloride gas at a rate of approximately 60 sccm to approximately 90 sccm in a chamber pressure of approximately 1 Torr to approximately 100 Torr.
OPTICAL MODULATOR WITH REGION EPITAXIALLY RE-GROWN OVER POLYCRYSTALLINE SILICON
Embodiments provide for an optical modulator that includes a first silicon region, a polycrystalline silicon region; a gate oxide region joining the first silicon region to a first side of the polycrystalline region; and a second silicon region formed on a second side of the polycrystalline silicon region opposite to the first side, thereby defining an active region of an optical modulator between the first silicon region, the polycrystalline region, the gate oxide region, and the second silicon region. The polycrystalline silicon region may be between 0 and 60 nanometers thick, and may be formed or patterned to the desired thickness. The second silicon region may be epitaxially grown from the polycrystalline silicon region and patterned into a desired cross sectional shape separately from or in combination with the polycrystalline silicon region.
SEMICONDUCTOR EPITAXIAL WAFER AND METHOD OF PRODUCING SEMICONDUCTOR EPITAXIAL WAFER, AND METHOD OF PRODUCING SOLID-STATE IMAGING DEVICE
An epitaxial wafer that includes a silicon wafer and an epitaxial layer on the silicon wafer. The silicon wafer contains hydrogen that has a concentration profile including a first peak and a second peak. A hydrogen peak concentration of the first peak and a hydrogen peak concentration of the second peak are each not less than 1×10.sup.17 atoms/cm.sup.3.
