A board logic game having a plurality of challenges for at least one player, the game comprising: a game board having game squares and at least one object square; at least one playing piece having a shape to fit within a game square, the at least one playing piece configured to be displaced between game squares; a challenge card specifying a maze structure, an initial game square position of the at least one game piece, and the at least one object square location; the maze structure having a maze template, the maze template including at least one maze piece, the at least one maze piece configured to be positioned within the maze template, the maze structure configured to be moved on the game board; wherein one of the plurality of challenges is solved by moving the maze structure on the game board and by thereby progressively biasing the playing piece to the at least one object square.

A method of playing a combination crossword and anagram game is disclosed. By manipulating movable tabular letter tiles or their digital, electronic or other equivalents, players take turns building a single free-form grid of intersecting words, crossword style, on any suitable surface. Each letter in each new word is worth one point, so game play favors long words. There is no game board, so the grid can grow in any direction, without constraint. Words are not locked in place, so they can be relocated at will to a different part of the grid in order to make room for the placement of new words. Furthermore, any individual word in the grid can be changed into another word by the addition and/or subtraction of letters, or even detached from the grid so that its letters can be used to create a new word. The game encourages and rewards anagrams.

The general tenor of the invention concerns any board game having game pieces and movements dictated by the game's rules, e.g., chess. An embodiment of the present invention contemplates a game board apparatus for playing a game, which may include: at least one game piece that includes a unique protrusion extending from its base, at least two sub-boards that are releasably interconnected using a plurality of connection tabs and a plurality of corresponding connection receptacles; a plurality of channels of each sub-board that are alignable with each other, wherein at least one of the plurality of channels may be modelled after permitted movements for the at least one game piece according to the game's rules, and at least one aperture allowing insertion of the game piece's protrusion that guides the at least one game piece through the plurality of permitted channels.

Disclosed is a set of a plurality dice useful for playing a spelling game among multiple players and an exemplary method of playing the game. The plurality of dice is assembleable to form a dice block attractive for packaging. Typically, all of the dice are cube shaped and of the same dimensions. Each die of the set has each of its faces labeled with a character set consisting of one or more letters of the alphabet. The manner of play can be varied by altering the total number of individual dice in the dice set used for play, for example from 125 dice to 100 dice, by adding or removing dice specifically color-coded for that purpose. A tile-on-shape puzzle game is disclosed using a plurality of unique shape designs having one or more tile projections disposed on one or both faces of the shape. The tile projections are adapted to fit in a recess on a play tile. Optional play cards are used to provide clues or shape designations and scores. Shapes are played to form a puzzle, with each player selecting where to place a shape, thereby forming a unique puzzle each time the game is played. Disclosed is a gaming unit for a gaming system, the gaming system comprising the gaming unit and a plurality of playing pieces, each playing piece of the plurality of playing pieces comprising a magnet and having an identifier. The gaming unit comprises: a play zone for arranging one or more playing pieces of the plurality of playing pieces on the gaming unit; a control unit; and a first magnetic unit configured to generate or alter a magnetic field for magnetically affecting one or more playing pieces arranged in the play zone. The first magnetic unit being operationally connected to the control unit. The control unit is configured to detect the identifier of a playing piece arranged in the play zone and responsive to the detection of one more particular identifiers generate a control signal controlling the first magnetic unit to generate or alter a magnetic field thereby magnetically affecting one or more playing pieces in the play zone.

Provided herein are various types of foldable game boards and foldable objects which include a plurality of elongated base panels each of which has an inner surface, an outer surface, and a side panel oriented perpendicularly on each end. The inner surface is capable securely holding game pieces when in an open configuration. The game boards and objects described herein can be folded to a closed configuration to form a hollow polygonal prism. This configuration gives rise to a space for the storage of pieces on the inner surface of the elongated base panels during closed configuration and includes magnetic plates underneath for the purpose of holding pieces in place to save the game state at any point.
