Fastening structure for footwear and shoe using the same

In a fastening structure, a third guide member located on the medial side and a third guide member located on the lateral side overlap each other in a foot length direction of footwear as viewed in the foot length direction. A tightening member is guided such that intermediate portions of the tightening member, which are located on the medial and lateral sides, extend in a direction including a component of the foot length direction without crossing each other in a foot width direction of the footwear.

Foot presence signal processing systems and methods

A foot presence sensor system for an active article of footwear can include a sensor housing configured to be disposed at or in an insole of the article, and a controller circuit, disposed within the sensor housing, configured to trigger one or more automated functions of the footwear based on a foot presence indication. In an example, the sensor system includes a capacitive or magnetic sensor configured to sense changes in a body's proximity to the sensor in footwear. Characteristics of the sensed proximity can be used to update an automated footwear function, such as an automatic lacing function, or can be used to determine a step count, foot strike force, a rate of travel, or other information about a foot or about the footwear.

ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR WITH LACING SYSTEM

An article of footwear including a sole, an upper joined with the sole, and a lacing system. The lacing system is configured to secure the footwear to the wearer's foot and includes a primary lace support, a secondary lace support, and a lace. The primary lace support has a plurality of primary loops disposed on an exterior surface of the upper. Portions of the secondary lace support are inserted through the primary loops to form a plurality of secondary loops. A lace extends through the plurality of secondary loops. The lace is slidably adjustable within the secondary loops and the secondary loops are slidably adjustable within the primary loops to adjust the fit of the article of footwear on a wearer's foot.

FOOTWEAR CLOSURE SYSTEM

A closure system for a shoe includes a single shoelace which can be secured and tightened through the use of one hand. The shoe includes a button around which the shoelace is wrapped to facilitate easy removal of the shoe. In one embodiment one end of the shoelace is secured under the upper of the shoe near the toe and a second end of the shoelace is secured in a slider that is slidably mounted on the rear of the shoe to provide micro-adjustments of the tightness of the shoe. Alternatively, the shoe includes a strip of piping around the rear of the shoe and a slider in which the second end of the shoelace is secured slides along the piping when the user wants to make micro-adjustments. The adjustment of the tightness of the shoe can also be made by sliding a barrel that is located over the top of the tongue.
