Further, the upper body defines an opening extending through the second side. The upper includes a lace extending across the throat between the first side and the second side. The upper further includes a dynamic support coupled to the upper body at the first side. The dynamic support extends across the throat from the first side to the second side. The dynamic support extends through the opening formed in the second side. The lace is attached to the dynamic support at the second side to apply tension on the dynamic support toward the second side when the lace is tightened.
UPPER FOR AN ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR
An article of footwear includes an upper having an enclosure including an adjustment region extending from a first edge to a second edge formed on an opposite side of the adjustment region from the first edge. The upper further includes a cable tensioning guide attached to the enclosure adjacent to the first edge of the adjustment region. The cable tensioning guide includes a first conduit and a second conduit. A cable of the upper includes a tensioning element having a first tensioning segment extending across the adjustment region from the first conduit and a second tensioning segment extending across the adjustment region from the second conduit. The cable further includes a control element having a first control segment connected to the first tensioning segment at the first conduit, and a second control segment connected to the second tensioning segment at the second conduit.
UPPER FOR AN ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR
An article of footwear includes an upper having an enclosure including an adjustment region extending from a first edge to a second edge formed on an opposite side of the adjustment region from the first edge. The upper further includes a cable tensioning guide attached to the enclosure adjacent to the first edge of the adjustment region. The cable tensioning guide includes a first conduit and a second conduit. A cable of the upper includes a tensioning element having a first tensioning segment extending across the adjustment region from the first conduit and a second tensioning segment extending across the adjustment region from the second conduit. The cable further includes a control element having a first control segment connected to the first tensioning segment at the first conduit, and a second control segment connected to the second tensioning segment at the second conduit.

A shoe is provided with a first forming portion provided on a medial side and a second forming portion provided on a lateral side across a central opening formed forward from a foot insertion portion of an upper on each of which a string passing portion is formed; a first support member a tip end of which is fixed to the second forming portion, including a first string passing structure provided at the tip end, and extending downward so as to abut a medial side of a foot; a second support member a tip end of which is fixed to the first forming portion, including a second string passing structure provided at the tip end, and extending downward so as to abut a lateral side of the foot; and a shoelace which passes through the string passing portion and continuously passes through the first and second string passing structures.
Shoe
A shoe is provided with a first forming portion provided on a medial side and a second forming portion provided on a lateral side across a central opening formed forward from a foot insertion portion of an upper on each of which a string passing portion is formed; a first support member a tip end of which is fixed to the second forming portion, including a first string passing structure provided at the tip end, and extending downward so as to abut a medial side of a foot; a second support member a tip end of which is fixed to the first forming portion, including a second string passing structure provided at the tip end, and extending downward so as to abut a lateral side of the foot; and a shoelace which passes through the string passing portion and continuously passes through the first and second string passing structures.
LACING MODULE
In a lacing module, one gear of a worm wheel gear and a clutch gear includes a protrusion, and another gear of the worm wheel gear and the clutch gear includes a recess. The worm wheel gear meshes with a worm gear rotatable together with a shaft of a motor. The clutch gear is fixed to a spool shaft portion of a spool around which a string can be wound. The protrusion protrudes in a direction between the one gear and the another gear. The recess is recessed in the direction between the one gear toward and the another gear. At least an end of the protrusion protruding from one gear to the other gear in a vertical direction is fitted into the recess.
