POLARIZATION CONVERSION INTEGRATED HORN ANTENNA AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
An integrated horn antenna with an integral polarization converter, and a method of manufacturing the integrated horn antenna are disclosed. The integrated horn antenna includes a horn, and a polarizer of which at least a portion is disposed in an internal space defined by an inner wall of the horn.
DIRECTIONAL COUPLER AND A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF
A directional coupler (100) comprises two hollow bodies (200, 201) forming two waveguide portions. Each hollow body has an open end arranged at a first side (10) of the hollow body and another open end arranged at a second side (20) of the hollow body in opposite to the first side in a longitudinal direction (30) of the hollow body. The hollow body has a first cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. A second cross section along the longitudinal direction defines a first plane of propagation of the electric field. The two waveguide portions have a common wall along the longitudinal direction (30) forming a septum (400) between the two waveguide portions on a second plane orthogonal to the first plane. The septum has an aperture (410) for coupling the two waveguide portions. The aperture has a shape comprising a part (420) slanted with respect to the longitudinal direction.
Ka-band high-gain earth cover antenna
An antenna system includes a reflector, an offset feed horn and a support platform. The reflector has a reflector surface. The reflector and offset feed horn are attached to the support platform. The offset feed horn transmits RF microwave energy toward the reflector surface. The antenna system further includes a turntable which has a single rotation axis. The turntable rotates about the antenna rotation axis. The support platform is attached to the turntable such that the turntable rotates the support platform. The reflector surface has a perturbed paraboloid geometrical shape that reflects most RF microwave energy along a beam peak pointing direction. The reflector surface reflects RF microwave energy towards the earth's surface in such a manner that the reflected RF microwave energy illuminates a narrow strip of the earth's surface from nadir to a point near the earth's horizon with substantially constant intensity. The offset feed horn is oriented and positioned such that it points away from the beam peak pointing direction.

In one example an apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a low frequency radiator, a high frequency radiator, a high frequency waveguide that carries high frequency bands to the high frequency radiator, a low frequency coaxial waveguide coupled to the high frequency waveguide in a coaxial structure, wherein the low frequency coaxial waveguide carries low frequency bands to the low frequency radiator and a low frequency combiner in communication with the low frequency coaxial waveguide, wherein the low frequency combiner comprises a circular low frequency waveguide and air dielectric transmission lines formed by air channels formed above and below a plurality of printed circuits in a metal housing.
Ortho-mode transducer and diplexer
A method includes receiving, through a vertical polarization port of an orthogonal-mode transducer (OMT), a vertical polarized signal from a vertical polarization diplexer, and receiving, through a horizontal polarization port of the OMT, a horizontal polarized signal from a horizontal polarization diplexer. The method also includes receiving, through a common port of the OMT, a circular polarized signal comprising the vertical and horizontal polarized signals. The common waveguide includes a septum polarizer configured to split or combine between the circular polarized signal, and the vertical polarized signal and the horizontal polarized signal.
